On the message center of my 94 there is an arrow that points straight up. Owners manual does not tell me what it means. If it comes on what does it mean? Thanks all.

It forces you to shift from 1st to 4th. If the engine is mostly up to temperature and you are less than a third of the throttle (I think), it forces a 1st to 4th shift.

Yes...the arrow is indicating that the car will shift from 1st to 4th. CAGS...computer assisted gear selection. When the arrow isn't lit...the car shifts normally. There is an inexpensive module you can install to stop the car from forcing the 1-4 shift...but the arrow will still illuminate.
A few more RPMs or a little more throttle and the car will not do this. I find it a hassle...so I put the modules in my Vipers. It just plugs in.
One more answer, from 2007 archives:
My name is SKIP SHIFTY. You can call me Skippy.
I'm from the Federal Govt and I'm here to help you save gas. I try to force you to use 4th gear whenever the yellow lite that I mandate tells you to SHIFT UP NOW. If your throttle is less than 40%, and your RPMs are low, you MUST shift from 1st to fourth, 'skipping' 2 gears. [I even named the process after myself!] I hate it when guys buy plug-n-play Skip-Shift-Eliminators or PCMs or programs to defeat me. If they are gonna muck with my plans, I prefer they buy cut-n-splice resistors than can cause check-engine lites. [I mandated those, too!]
I cant wait to see my preferences as they were insinuated into the 2008 Viper, fly-by-wire computer. I really had a BLAST with the HEMI motor fly-by-wire [FBW]........owners of those Chargers etc. just THINK they have full throttle, but NO WAY! I rob as much as 25% in 1st, and 10-15% when shifting. Hee-Hee....those dumb owners only have a Semi-HEMI and they dont even know it. I wont let them have 385-425 HP immediately on tap....NO WAY am I gonna let you have 600 HP on full-tap when you mash the FBW throttle. Remember: My name is SKIPPY and IM HERE TO HELP YOU.
Did I mention I hate DAN CRAGIN? He has already figured a way to program my designs out of the HEMI, and will probably help ensure the 2008 gets full-throttle when the OWNER wants, not when I want. I hate him. He thinks he's so smart.
Well, boys and girls, keep saving gas....and BE SAFE ! Don't use all 600HP at once, its way too much power to be safe..... Love ya, SKIPPY !
PS my friends Cindy Seatbelt, Oxy Petrol, and Dim-watt Lighting all say hi! They remind you to ABIDE BY ALL THE SETTINGS IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL....... we helped write those, too.....NO CHANGES ALLOWED.
[B767 DRIVER knows ALL ABOUT FBW.... we help HIM too! ]

PS Note just in from Skippy:
Im watching those guys at HPTuners, too! I even scared the Mopar Lawyers into delaying their performance 'off road' computer! Don't Mess With SKIPPY.....
Those Viper engineers, especially that "Winky" guy, think they are sooo tricky....Winky squeezes out yet another 50HP since our last chat. And we tried to hassle him about emissions certification back in 2013, but he snuck it thru again. He got such good gas mileage in 2013 that he could even sneak in a 3:55 diff in Gen 5! I really hate him.
Winky and crew even modified my mandated YELLOW UPSHIFT ARROW so that when the driver hits the SHIFT POINT just before redline, that light turns RED! Its a sneaky drag-racer up-shift light! These guys are encouraging racers !!!
They thought they could sneak that in by not mentioning it in owners manual or literature...letting the grass-roots draggers find out for themselves. Now DONT GO OUT AND CHECK, because when a Viper hits redline, even in 1st, its going faster than my federally-mandated 55mph limit......
Ralphie Geez once said that 'The 2010 Viper is the last pure-drivers supercar you can buy." But we Feds got even with Ralphie and Winky though: The Viper now has multi-level driver aids mandated ...by ME! And extra airbags to rob occupant shoulder room. Now, we're looking at that 'HELL" line of motors....with so much torque it will pop the sunroof..................I'M WATCHING YOU.
Skippy
