The rear shocks will require a "helper spring" to keep the rear spring from unloading on bumps or when lifted on a hoist. The rear spring can lose its index for the bottom of the spring where it seats, this can cause the spring to rotate and fall out of the seat. The ride height changes and you get a popping noise.

You need to realign the car after installing these caps and you must re-bump steer the rear of the car. The bump steer on the rear of the car changes significantly, the rear toe link on the Gen 5 is so short, even the smallest change in height will make the car rear steer. You can feel a dramatic improvement after doing this.

    My thoughts, yours may differ.
When installing the caps on my rear shocks, there appears to be a little play, the caps are loose. Is this normal and will be eliminated once the shock is loaded?

    Thanks

Yes and yes they are easy to swap, but the shop needs to do an alignment that includes the rear toe pattern being reset to insure the pattern is the same side to side.
