group buy!!!! im in................ I need some
Nice product, but if you have to jump through hoops to buy it then kind of pointless. It's only a matter of time before someone makes some. They are first to the market, they need to capitalize!!!
What Matt said. They are coilover spring perches (caps). If they wont sell them without you sending your car you could take that picture and have them custom made.
Yes! I'm In. A group buy.
Im in as well!
I'd likely be in for a group buy as well, depending on price.
We have read your posts and listened to your request and are going to sell the Lowering Caps to the Viper public as requested for $450.00 a set.
Technical questions will be directed to Nathan Dainton at the shop 281-351-2000.
Please understand we have an investment in engineering, tooling/manufacturing, and testing. There was a lot of time and efforts through the race engineers that helped develop the changes. This is not some cheap bolt on, but rather a product that has been tested to withstand the rigors of the typical Viper driver.
And we have taken the added step of having the parts treated so that they look great 2 years from now as well. We started out with the goal of lowering a car. However, we ended up with a lowered car that has a better ride quality. The issue is that each of the Viper damper choices are designed to work with a specific spring set. There are different springs on the SRT, and the GTS, and the TA. They are all unique. If you change springs, then your ride quality will suffer. That is why we are so excited about what we designed.
Several have asked and alignments are recommended.
The parts will be available beginning Tuesday of next week. You can email us through the web. The parts will be sold through our parts department and you will have to call them beginning Tuesday. Please don't call anytime prior as we are at COTA this weekend and no one will be able to assist. Also watch the race on Fox Sports Sunday hopefully we will bring home a win.
Thank you again for comments and look forward to hearing from each and everyone of you!
Excellent. I'll be getting a set now.
Thanks for listening! I'm in, I'll order up a set next week.
Just in time for my new T/A not that my Gen V GTS wouldn't have looked better with these. Thanks for bringing these to market and will be looking to do this mod at some point.
I'm in!!!
Tomball-Dodge. You guys Rock! thanks
Bruce you of all people should be on board with this, these were designed by the race team engineers and I know how much that means to you.
I can tell you that my car sits perfect.
BTW Thanks Bernie and Ben for listening to the community I fully believe this business model will be more profitable for you and better for the Viper community. There will always be cheaper imitations but only one set that was designed by the factory race team engineers. That alone will always add value to the product.
Great idea to open it up. $450 ain't cheap but gotta pay to play!
They won't work for me personally on track unfortunately as I already scrape the splitters on two tracks with unusually demanding braking zones that are combined with some cornering. I could lower mine and be okay braking hard or cornering hard, but not both simultaneously as is the case at both Mosport (T5a) and Le Circuit Mont Tremblant (Namarrow corner) where you're braking into a hill and turning at the same time, with extreme loading of one front corner. I'd need much stiffer spring rates all around to counter that. Grippier tires and/or brakes, or extended TA 2.0 splitter will make the situation even worse in the future. If I wasn't tracking the car in the future these would be perfect for a nicer stance, and curious if the ride quality is improved.
Well I track mine plenty as do several other guys in this thread. I'll let you know if we run into issues.
That is a good point, Bruce. When I hit the corkscrew at Laguna Seca for example, the suspension fully compresses. I busted off one of my air deflectors (the little vertical black plastic pieces in front of the front tires, which are not supposed to be used with the splitters). I didn't have the splitters installed when this picture was taken, but I will this weekend. 17 Vipers at Laguna Seca, it's gonna be a kick!
