Holy crap that's a lot of work there Mr. BAZ! Should feel great to bring back former glory!

Bigger question is whether you can complete this job without Scotland?

    Hi Mark!

Just a little history - this Viper was in Le Mans in 1999 when Vipers wiped the floor with the competition and it was allowed around the track afterwards (apparently with 4 people - 2 sitting on the sports bar).
Baz - If you look at the Viper logo on the rear bumper you'll see one of the letters is a slightly different colour. According to the previous owner it was taken from one of the race Vipers so I've not had the heart to change it.

Even laying on the floor the early intakes are automotive artwork. Whenever I open the hood I marvel at just how cool it is. Iconic.

    Looking good!

Just curious of you have any pictures of the tips of the valves and the rocker arms where they ride on the valves. I would like to see what the normal wear looks like.

What condition were the cylinders in after sitting so long? Any build up or scale? Very encouraging thread since I'm doing something similar.

  22. #47
Cylinder liners were fine still in good shape...

All done . Just need to pull fuel pump relay and crank over to get the fresh oil round the engine and flush the water system out before filling with coolant..

    BUGGER!!!!!! Rad leaking ..

Awesome thanks...brings back great memories when I restored by 71 GTX many years ago.

Nice working fixing that old girl up!

    Little hold up......

Pulled the fuel pump relay to crank over and get oil pressure up without starting and get the oil around the engine , But dead battery.... Battery on charge so I thought I would fill the water system up (was going to do it out side) 5 pints or so in and I heard a dripping...... Great hole in the rad....

For those who have not done a rad in a 92 or 93 there a BITCH!!!! Nose off, Oil cooler moved ,AC condenser off,Hood off,Hood hinges off and hood catches off then the rad will tilt forwards and up. after .....

    Few pics

    Repaired and ready for Re-Fit
