WOW Car looks killer![]()

Wow lots of great photos of all the detail work.
Car looks amazing!
I also did a tiny "mod" tonight as well. Installed the trim rings for the AC dials from MGW. Their stuff always struck me as a teeny bit overpriced on paper, but its damn fine quality, and well justified of the cost once its in hand.
I think it looks really nice and matches their shifter and cup holder bezel that I installed nicely. I will be doing a full brushed aluminum 3m-dinoc wrap on both center dash pieces, and getting custom suede boots with silver stiching for the e-brake and shifter soon.
I removed the factory warning labels off of the sun visors when i first purchased the car (they were peeling on the edges), and since I am a small child; I replaced them with these;

Oh, looks really good. I like. You planning to do the 4 gauges as well?
Slow....car looks incredible. Love the detail.
How did you remove the original visor labels ?
My original visor labels are/have peeled off very easily. Just take your time on a warmer day.
The detail job you got is amazing. I have been wondering what shop can do that for me in the MKE/CHI area. I have a few rock chips and would really appreciate seeing the car look better than brand new again.
Nice work and again, thanks for updating us![]()
Took the car today to get the clear bra put on the front bumper (Avery Nano).
When I pulled up I knew I had come to the right place.
Pulled the car in...
And started looking around--I was definitely in good company today gents.
Look at that continental!
Black, phonedials, need i say more? (US spec bumper tears in 3..2...)

Then the work began...
Finished product;
I thanked the gentlemen for their work and took off to my detailer so that he could apply some wax over the bra. I ran into a rare specimen on the way and wished we weren't in bumper to bumper traffic so we could of given each other more than a :thumbup:.
Got the shop and admired the car for a bit before the guys got there...
Quick foam and rinse. Its amazing, absolutely no towels touched the car or wheels to dry. The c-quartz beads the water so perfectly that they just walked around with a leaf blower and it was done. Simple as that.
Pulled her in, detailed a few key spots, waxed the front bumper and i was on my way! She is now sleeping peacefully in the garage.

Nice E-Type in that first pic. I grew up in a 71 E V12 'Vert, that my mother bought new (I was 8), and was her daily driver for 10 years. She finally sold it just a few years ago. It's what got me hooked on cars in the first place
Did you guys see that GT2 up on the lift next to the Viper? There is only about 2" of wheel gap with the suspension fully unloaded! Crazy.
Weather has been rainy for the past month or so on the weekends so she's been spending a lot of time in the garage, nothing new to really update. However, I spent some time abroad recently and had a lot of time on my hands during some jet lag induced sleepless nights; So I edited some footage I had on the computer of the car..

I see a PCar or two in those shots I recognize. Those guys did the clear bra on my old gen 3 but I was not happy with the job they did. It was an older 3M film and they over stretched the snot out of it. Yours looks great. Give me a call I want to chat with you about the Cquartz. I plan on getting my new car done once its clear bra'd and I have a chance to cut the clear.
did you just do the bumper?
Some sweet pics man. Exciting to go through the pages of this thread and see the progress![]()
Well, unfortunately this Cinderella story doesn't have a happy ending.
I've kept quiet about the incident until a replacement was in the garage--as i feel like whenever I talk about things that excite me something always inevitably fucks up and I end up with a foot in my mouth.
About a month ago, returning from one of the VOA meets I was puttering along in 6th gear in the right hand lane of a 4 lane highway with heavy traffic. I started to make the lane switch to head into the leftmost lane when a car ahead and a lane over to the left of me decided to go full abs lock and swerve into my direction. Witnesses say there were some crotch rockets weaving up and in between traffic on the dividing lines--however from my vantage I couldn't see anything of the sort (or maybe I just don't remember). I was exhausted from a day at the beach, and just wasn't in the state of mind to dodge cars on the freeway Bad Boys 2 style. I made a quick steering input to the left to avoid him and quickly realized it was going to be downhill battle from there. I think i asked a bit too much angle from the rack, and the car delivered every bit of what i dialed in. Felt the rear unload and go light and I knew that when I started to bring it back in line it was gonna snap out. Sure enough the rear snaps out and I counter-steer and try to add throttle (..but I'm in 6th so it was futile). I fought it back and forth until the ass end hit some of the gravel/rocks/dust in the run off area, which may as well have been ice, and I slid the car sideways across the freeway, off the freeway, across the feeder and down into a ditch. The ditch, like an evil knievel ramp, delivered some flight time over some brush and into the only tree in the area. I came to a stop bewildered, angry, and surprised that I was alive and unscathed.
As you can imagine everyone pulled over to see the show, put in their .02 cents, and get exciting facebook photos. Luckily for me there was a decent human being among them (an RN that was headed to work), who was merging onto the freeway and saw the entire thing unfold. When the police arrived she took it upon herself to tell them exactly what happened, which cleared me from any blame in the police report (and thankfully, the wrath of my insurance company). Oh, and all the other vehicles/motorcycles involved, fled the scene, of course.
This was the last picture i took of her, about an hr before the incident.
And from the scene, after the dust settled;
And the depressing sight from the graveyard;
So, thats that. I'll start a new thread with the replacement, but I didnt want questions of "what happened to the last one" and the ensuing responses cluttering up that thread.
Be safe out there.
That is a bummer! Sorry to hear man!
However.... Congrats on the VVO G4!
wow, that's a dam shame
Really hate looking at those picsBut super happy you are still on here posting and have something new in the garage to put a smile on your face. Can't wait to see your new one out and about with us! Congrats on the Gen 4 purchase!
Andy
Damn! Glad you are ok.
Glad to hear you are OK. From those pics....wow! All that engine in front of the drive is actually pretty protective. And you just made all those mods. I see in your sig you now are in a VVO Gen 4. That's one of my dream colors, looking forward to hearing what you're going to do with it.
Wowza. Glad you're alright Alex. That looked nasty.
Glad to see you're ok after that! We've all watched you put a lot of time, effort, and money into that car and I think I speak for all of us when I say it kills us to see your car in that shape. Happy to see you've got a replacement and I'm excited to see what you've got in store for it. I really enjoyed your build thread as it was almost a journal, if you will, about the car and your days spent with it. I'm hoping you continue this style thread with the new ride as well.
