Do IAC's go bad often? I had to replace them on both my boats 5.7 Mercs in the past. I tried cleaning it on my 95 rt/10 didn't help...

May help to re-set PCM, throttle position sensor, etc .
Search that. Couple recommended ways to do that.

Gen 1's can have driveability issues if the twin throttle cables get out of synch. Because the alternator sits top-center at the front of the engine, there isn't any easy way to have a mechanical linkage between the TB's.
