Wink Finally took my Gen 3 to the drag strip. 9.61 @ 151.8 mph

I haven't taken this car to the drag strip in over 2 yrs now. Last time out, it was just a stock engine car with the Paxton supercharger. Since then, I've added about 400 rwhp. I couldn't get a good launch without making the clutch slip too much, so I had to leave the line somewhat conservative and then get on it. My best 60' of the day was a 1.55, but the clutch didn't hold in 2nd gear. I also cut a few 1.60-1.62 times, but the high rpm launch didn't hold again.

Yes, I had to grab 5th gear. That is a lot of rowing in less than 10 seconds. My nitrous shuts off at 6,000 rpm to be safe, which is when you see the shift light flash. So, I had to grab 5th in order to stay on the bottle.

    Timeslips for today:

    Mods:

    Forged internals on the shortblock
    Custom camshaft
    Belanger headers
Novi2000 supercharger at 12 psi boost (makes about 850-875 on boost alone)
Nitrous Outlet 150 hp wet kit.
    TR6060 transmission
3.33 rear gears w/ Wavetrac diff and Driveshaft Shop half-shafts
    18" drag radials
    3,650 lbs raceweight

    Tony

I've always said the blue ones are the ones to watch out for !

Well done. Seat time is the number one reason for fast times.

Beast. 153 is cooking. Low 9s are in it with a serious launch. Are you on the bad boyz clutch?--was wondering why it was slipping.

    Holy hell! Very nice.

Looks like it drives very refined/smooth. Man, 1st gear goes by fast.

    very nice!

Curious, what were your 1/4 mile times in that car stock? What about paxton only, no nos?

Too much heat after a hard high-rpm launch. It would slip in 2nd gear on those hard launches. Taking off easy, never slipped at all. I don't think anyone has abused a BBG clutch for over a year, like I have. This thing has had hundreds of runs on it.

Stock was 12.0 at around 119. It was back in 2007. Paxton with stock engine went 11.0 @ 130 on street tires. I guess I skipped the 10s.

Never ran it with Paxton on built engine. But my buddy did yesterday - his car was built exactly like mine, minus nitrous. This was his first visit to the track, ever. 10.31 @ 137 mph. Mine probably would have run similar off the bottle.

    Bad Boyz Garage dual-disk clutch.

    It ran 9.62 without 5th.
