Harmonic vibration and the aluminum block are a couple good reasons, that was why Woodhouse engineered the mounts with a spec’d durometer of urethane along with SRT's help.

    What Mark said.....

Not Broke, don't fix.....they can make your dash-instruments and shifter buzz or vibrate. I instructed in a G 3 at Spring Mountain NV in a car whose owner complained that the ONLY mod he made before that NARRA Viper Days was harder motor mounts, and they induced noticeable vibrations in the cockpit. He planned to take them out and just do a tranny mount alone to help tranny-movement.

Gen 4 is the most problematic, even the 'engineered by Woody" mounts can interefere with Gen 4 knock-sensor.
