My floating hood, (pics)

So, I do not go to many car shows, but the few that I do, I've always seemed to have a problem, open the hood or keep it shut, those of you in the know, know what I'm talking about, is the car sitting level or will the hood slam shut, is the wind calm or will the wind slam the hood down etc...so.... came up with this.....it's also good to help cool down the engine when I get it home.

Are you using anything to prop up the back? Mine won't stay there on it's own.
