Good results with GG cam and heads 673RWHP 644RWLBFT

We recently finished a top end refresh on a previously built motor. Greg Good did the heads and cam. In the past I have been amazed at the amount of cylinder pressure and hp numbers from his combinations, compared to others we have used.

This Gen 3 has 10.55 to 1 compression. The cam is big, bigger than most run on the street. We ran it on 91 and 93 octane fuel. It made best numbers on the 93, but still had some knock control. I figure that it might make 690whp or so with 100 octane and full timing. We were able to get it tuned well, but have maxed out the stock injectors. The car does have some surging at low speeds because of reversion and the manifold design. With mulitple throttle bodies we could get rid of all that.

Thanks to Greg Good for all his help.

That is amazing! Curious what a ported Gen IV heads with the intake from Moper Performance would do in a combination like that.

What headers is the car using?

    WOW, nice as always.

Wow, great #s! Since he tuning is out, I wonder what a gen 4 would put down with a GG heads and Cam? 700rwhp maybe?

The headers are ARH, no cats and stock mufflers.

Congrats to you and the guys behind that! Pretty damn good NA combo. Solid lifter or hydraulic cam? What max rpm? Dry or wet sump?

Its a hydraulic cam, T&D Rockers, 6200 rpm fuel shut off, wet sump, swing oil pan.

Can you elaborate on the multiple throttle bodies? Very strong numbers indeed. 644lbft of torque to the pavement has to feel great. Am I reading that graph right, it never dropped under about 470lbft?

Very nice! GG never fails to deliver. Any vids of the idle? Does it sound similar to the 710 cam? Stock fuel system?

Dan, what do you think the crank HP is on this monster?

To me it sounds like a little more fuel and this this should be around 800 crank HP.

The car has a very lopey idle. If it was my car I would go with a smaller cam and gain a little better driveability, but the customer loves it. To answer the question about multiple throttle bodies and surging. Cams with a lot of overlap push quite a bit of diluted charge back up into the intake manifold at low engine speeds, causing surging. With multiple throttle bodies you dont have a common plenum to hold the diluted charge (each runner is its own small maifold), so surging is less and idle is smoother. I think this motor makes just shy of 750hp.

Any video of idle or of car after mods?

My guess is that it will idle like this one...
