    TA at Cars and Coffee

    So this was the first opportunity to get my TA out to Houston Cars and Coffee. I wasn't really prepared for the response. We have some incredible cars in Houston, and sometimes even cars like Viper can get lost in the rounding it seems.

    Needless to say that didn't happen. People absolutely mobbed the car, it was really great to see people that excited to see the new Viper. I snapped this quick photo as it was one of the few moments where there was enough of the car showing to actually get it in the shot.

    I remember people flocking to Nineballs the first time it showed up as well.

    That is great, People just do not get to see Vipers too often and they get mobbed when they arrive. A GEN V is even better.

    Glad you went. Seems if I don't go, no Gen 5 Vipers are present. Easy to spot them, in the field of 100 Gallardos that show up each time.

    Haha I think there were 200 Challengers, 300 Camaros, and 400 Mustangs. I see what you did there though.

    When you look at the T/A it speaks the Viper language. It's mean and wicked, what every Viper should be. Love the black....

    It's interesting you mention that. For some reason here in the midwest, Ferrari is the go-to manufacturer if you have $$$ and want to buy street presence and status followed closely by Porsche. I personally like the Lambo's but we hardly ever see any at C&C. The ferrari's are well represented...458, 430, 360 seem to be the most common.

    There are so many Ferrari's and Lambo's out here its rediculous. Seems like the ballers out here are in super high HP stuff, TTG's, TTFGT's, TTVettes, TTVipers, you name it.

    I already know I hang out in the wrong places to see these high-power modded cars (small towns and road courses), but I'm amazed there's a lot out there. It would make sense that there'd be a higher concentration in major cities, but is there really many out there otherwise? We just toured through Pennsylvania, Virginia, DC, and NY for 10 days and noted the complete absense of sports cars of any kind, anywhere...even in Washington and Philadelphia. We saw a bunch of base Mustangs, but I don't think I even saw one Camaro, Corvette, or 911, except on trailers going to the same track we were.

    The high end cars come out to the road courses, but they're definitely not modded for high-power like the ones you mentioned.

    I lived in DC for ten years, and yes it's completely different there in terms of roll race builds. Down here its a completely different ball game.

    DC area is bizarre. For as much cash as there is in the area, 4 of the top 5 counties in the United States, there really isn't a super car scene at all.

    Great local tracks as well, MIR, Cecil, Capitol, VIR, and E-Town. I never understood it. Roads aren't conducive to putting big power down (asphalt not concrete), and winters was always my take.
