I just bought a Gen II Dodge Viper GTS from a certified Viper mechanic who owns several Vipers. These newer Viper rims were on them and I bought the older Gen 2 rims for a more stock look. Although these newer rims technically look better, it was more of a personal decision. I drove the Viper across a whole state without any issues and they are currently on my car right now that I drive on the weekends. The car and rims/tires have always been garaged. Wheels have not been raced or tracked. Obviously should be able to fit all generations of Vipers. I’m not much of a car guy and this is my first Viper. I’ll try to be as descriptive as possible. You’re getting a better deal than me as one of my older gen II Viper rims I just bought was curb-rashed and had gouges on the spokes even though the seller claimed they were perfect.
Rims – More or less flawless. Remember the car is a daily driver and not a garage queen. See absolutely no gouges and no curb rash at all. If looking extremely close, can see some surface imperfections such as LIGHT scratches and even a place or two where it looks like a <1mm dot of paint or something is stuck to the rim. On the side of one of the spokes there's a small streak of black paint. Not sure if can clean off or not but extremely minor. Didn’t even notice until I was specifically inspecting the rims for this auction (can't even see any imperfections it in the full HD pictures).
Tires - The tires or more or less new and have less than 500 miles on them from the trip. I cannot verify if they truly are brand new since I’m the one who didn’t buy them but they look pretty new to me seem to have a decent amount of thread left (pictures with thread below. Fronts have >6/32” tread depth (penny memorial) while the rears have >4/32” tread debt (quarter head). The only problem with the tires is that they were manufactured 5 & 6 years ago (Front: March 2009, Rears: January 2008). The recommended age to replace tires regardless of wear is between 6 to 10 years. Many times when you buy brand new tires they are usually always a few years old or even several years old sometimes (all this information is coming from tirerack.com not just pulling it out of thin air). These tires should still have a good 4~5 years of life left assuming you don’t wear them out before then. It beats buying brand new tires for $1,000, which you will easily wear out before they hit their 10-year mark.
Center Caps – These are actually the older Generation I/II Sneaky Pete logos and not the newer ones that would normally go with these rims. You can tell these center caps are a bit worn due to probably being on a gen I/II car originally. Didn’t even realize they were the older ones but you can always buy the newer center caps if anal.
I am starting the auction for less than the price of the rims new and will let you all bidding decide how much you think the tires and center caps are worth. Please do not contact me about buying the tires/wheels right now. They are still on my car. I will be doing the rim and tire swap shortly before the auction ends. I am also only selling these as a set and not individually. Pickup is free of course in Las Vegas, NV. I am willing to deliver the wheels within a 300-mile of Las Vegas, NV for $75 (Phoenix, AZ, Los Angeles, CA, ect.). $150 anywhere else. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or would like more pictures (especially when the wheels come off). I will ship this either UPS or USPS in 4 individual boxes with signature confirmation. I only accept PayPal with a verified payment source and shipping address. Thank you.
