Now lets see if they build 2015 model year vehicles or if they're still on 2014's.
Now lets see if they build 2015 model year vehicles or if they're still on 2014's.
They will build it.
Bruce
Which Bruce? 14's or 15's?
With the year 1/2 over it seems silly to build 14's ESP with all of the available cars.
2015, sounds like they are retooling and by the time we attend NVE1 we should see new cars on the assembly line.
Bruce
I think half this mess would have been avoided if they would have labeled all the '13s as 14s!
Great to see it going again.
That one should be our customers and the next Woodhouse Motorsports Division build, plant shut down just as his was to be started.
I have heard that they will finish 2014s in the pipeline and then switch to 2015s in the later part of July 2014.
That said, given the late date and 2014 (and some 2013) cars still in inventory, it seems like it would make the most sense to make 2015s and just change any existing orders to 2015s. Then again, no one put me in charge! It will be interesting to see what the 2015 "refresh" will entail. If it is performance oriented, then it should be retroactive so that the 2013 and 2014 supporters of the Viper can enjoy the benefits. And no, I do not currently own a Gen V--yet.
Ok, so if 2015's will be starting to be built by the end of July, when will we see the '15 refresh?
My guess is the mid 2015 refresh will be for a 2016 model year car. Hope it's an ACR.
Information varies wildly on all of this. I just reported what I had heard. Ultimately, we will just have to wait and see what happens. I would be amazed if the refresh was significant in any way. I do not see more power or a vert or an acr. One would think that we would have seen the vert spy photos or ACR spy photos if those models were truly coming in 2015. Recall that product organizational charts like the one floating around for Dodge do not contain great detail and are subject to change. The one thing I hope for is that we receive official, accurate news on the "refresh" quickly. I am in the market for the Gen V and I would like to know what is up!
"Performance" as in HP and a MOTOR re-certification?!?
The primary reason the G5 Launch was more like a 'fizzle' was the bureaucratic road blocks to get the engine emissions certed.
The most GIGANTIC open house of CAAP history is planned for 3rd weekend of JULY :
Chrysler Employee Open House; SRT Open House; VOA Homecoming Open House....
I would not be shocked if something debuted there. And Im NOT hinting, Im just GUESSING.

Is it unrealistic to anticipate an announcement that mid 15 refresh is actually the Gen VI?
There have been previous gens that only lasted for a few model years correct?
The only way to correct this mess beyond the obvious better marketing, etc. is to look at sales of the G5 on average over 2013' and 2014'. That is really less than 400 per year average between the two of actual sales is it not? I suspect Dodge will limit total Viper production and sales each year to 300 period. No more, no less. Build the business model off of that if it can be done. If they keep it under 400 or 500 cars, it does something for the CAFE rules if I am not mistaken. If production is under 400 or 500 cars, the rules change I believe and it opens up some wiggle room.
I am willing to bet, the Vert will be revealed at Homecoming. It is the most logical place for it. Just as the original coupes were snapped up by existing vert owners, so will the verts by existing couple owners. Since the Z06 vert is now 650 hp and existing Viper is 640 hp, willing to bet it is unveiled with more than that now. Can't wait, 24 days and counting.
Do something that is over the top. Only hope.
Gen 1 92-96
Gen 2 96(GTS),97(RT)-02
Gen 3 03-06
Gen 4 08-10
I don't see the 15 being a GenVI, but who knows. Maybe the have something up their sleeve. The TA was a hit and it really wasn't that different. I honestly think the convertible needs to appear to sell more units than the 400-500 a year mentioned above.

A quick hissssstory review:
GEN ONE: No Coupes 92-96.5. Concept GTS was clamored for.
GTS and iconic Gen TWO success 96.5 - 2002.
2002 RTs were exported to liquidate surplus. 98-2002 GT2 / ACR as Ltd Ed Successes. All sold. Good residuals. Comp Coupe Debut 2002, slow, sold out.
GEN THREE 2003-4 Verts a raging success. Surplus in 05. Mamba goofiness. Terrible residuals.
No coupes 2003-2005. Gen 3 coupes built ONE YEAR, as a 2006 rousing success. Killed by 600HP hints for G4.
No Viper 2007 = pent-up-demand for Gen 4
Gen 4 a rousing success 08-09.5, buoyed by ACR debut. Recession Hit.
2010 half-year of Viper. HIGH % of ACR. Snail-Slow-Sales. 100 ACR-X Sold Out slowly.
2011-12 Dark Ages: NO Vipers, [but other poisonous growths mushroomed.]
2013 debut of awesome [ALL COUPES] Gen 5 delayed.....initial hoopla-hurray-hype soured by delays, price hike.
2014 TA Edition a steady success.
2014 Verts being hinted - requested but not in ROUSING Numbers. Are YOU aroused?

NVE should be very interesting !![]()
![]()
2013 might've been the year of the snake but 2015 has some incredible super cars making their debut. The 650s, Z06 and Huracan just to name a few. The new Viper is a lot of fun to drive and I think it's got more potential in it. But if the hellcat is gonna have over 600hp, with the viper transmission and sound like a Maserati on steroids, then the Viper needs something extra to live up to its status as the flagship model of its own brand and to compete with all of the others. Next few weeks should reveal a lot.
Or it can reveal nothing. Time will tell.
I wouldn't bet the farm on some big announcement
i would bet, more ext/int colors.. yawn still waiting for the pcm.
I heard they are also re stocking the store preparing for NVE.![]()
I doubt there will be a refresh for the 2015 model year, wouldn't they would have already said something? Since its already almost July.
