How about a ballpark? More or less expensive than just paying DTM $1000 for the retrofitted Lambo steering wheel?

Dtm wanted 1800.00 for the wheel.

There was one on ebay for $749 recently. The auction may not be closed yet if folks are also looking for one.

Pedro, your steering wheel fetish amazes me! All of them look great and can't wait to see what you come up with for a custom GenV wheel, I know that thing will be off your car and modified before the end of summer!

I just cover the the button with some 3m dinoc for now till I get ready for the carbon fiber work. some pics of the 3 wheels on the car.

The first pic is the alcantara, then carbon fiber and the last 2 are the genV. I love the way the gen v wheel feels and looks so much better than stock. for the next step is making the gen V wheel out of carbon fiber.

The only thing that i had to do to get the horn to work with the gen V airbag was to ground to metal on the sterring wheel pic.

okay, send me part numbers I'm doing this instead of my custom stitched wheel...

edit - purchased carbon fiber trim OE steering wheel on ebay, I assume from your guy. I need the airbag part number....

edit #2: paid 799 for the OE wheel with carbon fiber trim on ebay, $340 for a brand new airbag from AllMoparParts. All in - $1140. I was going to spend $500 just getting my OE gen iv wheel stitched, so I feel great about this!!! I've been looking for a good alternative. Thank you Pedro for doing this investigating!!!

Great upgrade! Thanks for the information. Any wiring work needed (airbag/horn) to install the Gen V wheel in a Gen II? Or is the only work required for install the grinding of the guide key?

Can you wire up a PAC steering wheel controller to operate your aftermarket stereo via steering wheel controls?

Gen 2 is worse...I think I'm going with a MoMo. Screw the airbags.

72hemi, on the gen 2 grinding of the guide key is the only difference you will have to ground the horn to metal on the wheel.

Kurt, the pac wont work im still working on the buttons I got one side with home link and the other side with the radio remote. but over all I really dont like the buttons on the wheel so I think im going to put the custom part i made with no holes. hope to see you all soon. take care.
