    Anyone with GEICO auto insurance?

If you have or previously had GEICO insurance for your vehicles I would greatly appreciate any feedback or experience you had with them. Quality of service, claims service, etc. Their rates seem reasonable but wanting any input you might have. Thanks

I had Geico insurance on my Viper that I totaled in a single car accident. Geico was great to work with. It took about a 3 weeks for them to get the check to me, but they were super easy to work with. They put the car in a heated shop and allowed me to come in and take off all my aftermarket mods as long as I had OEM to replace those with. I drove the car 10K miles in a year, and Geico paid me $1000 more than what I bought the car for.

I'm sure it varies from state to state. My buddy had an issue with his ACR and had Geico for the insurance. Let's just say it didn't go very well.

I don't have them... but I've heard more than once they put all their money into cute commercials and make their money back by stiffing people on any claims they can manage to get away with.
Not a very good business model imho

A few things that happened to me. When the adjuster looked at it for the first time he gave me a check for $8000 and said 5 days to fix it. I said umm is this check just for the splitter?? It's like a $10,000 splitter this is an ACR. He says my computer shows it's only a $300 belly pan. I went to my dads work printed off the splitter picture and price took it back to him and he says the check is already printed get a supplement and we will come back out to look at it. They got all these higher ups involved. Wanted to know what an ACR was. Made me prove to them that it was a real ACR. Took 3 month to the date to get my money and they ended up giving me $31,000 as soon as I got the check I canceled my policy. There is a lot more but this is just a few things that happened. Also they wanted to use a remaned headlight and plastic weld the fenders. Umm you don't plastic weld a $112,000 car with 1000 miles on it

I've been with Geico for over 20 years. However, I my comments come without having EVER had a claim in all that time. I did get a Viper speeding ticket without any rise in rate as they seem to have some "forgiveness" underwriting. They are the absolute least expensive insurer for me with pretty much full premium coverage. Most every year I run on-line quotations with several competitive insurers (including Geico using an alias). Geico's 6 month premium is anywhere from 1/2 to 1/5 of the other competitors. It's so drastically cheaper that I sometimes fear I've entered the wrong info. With 2 SRT vehicles (Viper and GC) in NYC, I also use them for a personal umbrella policy that covers liability above my auto policy. I was using Travelers for the umbrella until Geico suggested I switch to them which saved me on both the auto policy (being able to lower the liability limits) and the umbrella.

What I do like about them is that they are available 24/7 on the phone, to discuss various policy options (especially before purchasing a new car) they've been VERY helpful with suggestions to save me money. There was one year where their renewal premium was about $25 more than what my "alias" could get on-line. One call and they reduced my renewal by the $25 and an extra $5 for their mistake.

My renewal has been going down every year by a small amount despite having newer cars.

As I mentioned, bear in mind my positive experience and opinion comes without a claim.

See if Erie Insurance offers policies out your way. I had Geico years ago and their premiums kept going up 10% a year or more w/o accidents or tickets. Erie has been great to work with on a couple of claims.

This happened with me with USAA (I'm in Pennsylvania). I switched to Travelers for a couple years. When I bought my new house this year, I switched to Westfield, umbrella with house and 3 cars, and saved $600/year on the auto part: 13 Dart, 07 SRT8, and 03 Viper. As for Geico, I've heard the same thing that I see in this thread - some love 'em, some hate 'em.

These are great reviews and one reminds me of the piss poor service I got a few years ago from USAA. Dropped them years ago of course. I also found out by going with another insurer like GEICO just for the cars, that my home owners from my current insurer would increase by $800 a year without keeping the cars with them, thus washing out the lower rate on the cars with GEICO. Thanks for all the replies.

That's what I found out with Westfield as well. They want to have everything bundled. I
