    Son of a.......

Truck tire tread in the middle of the road.

Accidents happen, what really frost me is that I was driving 400 or so yards behind a State Police officer who was doing 60 in the left for 6 plus miles, which in turn caused traffic to be all bunched up behind him making this object impossible to detect until it was too late......and the officer drive RIGHT PAST IT. I suppose gone are the days when a police officer actually pulls over, puts on the lights and tries to warn motorists of danger in the road.

I 'looks' like the fascia can be repaired, but obviously it means repaint and I also need to find a fog light lens cover.

Probably gonna cost me 3k min

Damn. Have you tried to clean it up yet? 3M makes an adhesive renover that people use to remove scuffs from rubber at the race track. Worth a shot i suppose.

It just happened this morning and I am working.....the paint is off on the blue and there are some cracks in the fiberglass....I didn't get low enough to look at the very bottom. The black may come off the white.....I'm stopping at a body shop later this afternoon for them to have a look.

Bummer! Sounds like a repaint then. Checkng with insurance is a good idea. Maybe they can cover some if it?

My wife hit not 1 but 2 racoons on the way back from the TOD this past weekend. With and ACR splitter on the front of the 08 it still managed to slide under with no damage! I was pissed at first but happy to see there wasn't any damage.

The front covers can be had pretty cheap if you do need one. Getting the paint to match is probably going to be your biggest issue.

    Sorry your Viper got damaged.

I'd definitely file a claim if you've not filed one in a couple years. Stuff like that is exactly why we carry collision insurance.

$1100 estimate.....pull it off, repaint it, remount it, install a new fog light cover.
Goes to the shop on Monday, 3 days estimate.

Just home nothing behind it got fubar because then the price only goes up.

Been there done that on other cars. Totally blows. Should be able to fix it all up and looking good again, just a hassle and wasted $$!

Not a bad estimate. IIRC, anything under $1,700 is largely ignored by insurance companies when it comes to impacting premiums.

Have this shop worked on Vipers before?

No, however, I am good friends with their head painter.......he did this for me (full color change from white to dark moss green) for me as a side job last year, so I know the paint will be done right at least. If I have to tweak final fit and finish later...so be it....I wasn't happy with the hood gaps to begin with so I think it can only get better

The other silver lining (if there is one) the underside/lower corners were all scraped up from the previous owner already pulling in and out of his driveway....so those will all be fixed up.

I'm sure that'd buff right out wanted. Hope everyone was ok. Sucks to hear about the tire damage. On the flip side, could if been a lot worse. Atleast it'll get fixed up for you.
