HPTuners is releasing Beta tuning for the Gen 4s.!!!!!!

    Keith released this info yesterday....

Sounds like there are a couple details to work out but it is about to happen....!!

    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...-2-25-500-BETA

I am sure he has been testing/using it in his race car and he has been kicking butt....

Hopefully he will chime in here....

Saw that last night...as soon as they get the throttle relearn functionality in the scanner, it's game on.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly their custom OS will allow access to (like if you'll be able to mess with the cam at all)...should be a very interesting rest of the year for sure.

Good to see some progress here. Gen V will surely follow, as they are similar.

I wonder if HPT will allow for 2-bar MAP capability. Then boooooost will happen on many.

Given that it's a custom OS straight out of the gate, it might be possible...just don't know how much room they are working with.

The "throttle relearn" can be done at the dealer.

I am going to wait a little bit for more info though. Looks very promising....!

Look out Vette guys, here we come....

I have been all over my HP tuning buddies to get some more info.

I'll pass on as soon as I get more info.

Like NINEBALL said, the GEN 5 tuning should be right behind.....

This is a game changer! Throttle relearn is a non-issue. May also switch to an even longer primary header from BBG. Anyone heard about ETA? I'm looking forward to exploring exactly what this 8.4L can do N/A. I think once we get a chance to test this, it will be time to contact mechadyne and see what we can do with more aggressive cam options also.

Good sign for Gen V owners as well!

Good news to hear.....if this HP Tuner system is a home run, the value of a Gen 4 will increase 5% to 10% within 12 months of this thing coming to market. The PCM really is what has been hurting the overall package of this car and its desirability.

The only concern that I have after reading the HP tuners forum was that they can't see the OEM parameters it seems. So, does that mean they've rewritten the entire code? I'm not clear on this, but I'd like to work from the reference code to be sure there is NO driveability issues other than what you change manually.

I can't figure it out either...they are using a custom OS, which I've used before on my old '02 Camaro, but this seems a bit different than that. There must be some amount of RAM available with tables the PCM can reference, and HPT is having it reference them, but I don't know how much can be done. Keith has said that he has had good success tuning his own, so I can only assume that you'll have full access to everything you need (spark, fuel, etc.), but there are a few things like the variable cam that I'm wondering if we'll end up being able to control.

I am feeling a little better about having an extra stock PCM sitting here. I was wondering if I was ever going to have a use for it, now it looks like someday I might.
I will leave my original one alone.

And I might wait on buying my Gen V race ECU. Had SRT released it two weeks ago like they thought they would have sold everyone they could make. Couple weeks later they might be paper weights.

There's still no ETA on the race ECU either. I don't get what they're doing at all...

MOPAR continues to drop the ball. MOPAR is terribly slow in releasing parts.

I don't think I am not selling mine anytime soon. Nothing until I have proof and dyno numbers.

I definitely agree. We have had our hopes up before only to be disappointed.

Could be available before Hastings. Maybe it will help me finally get around you....
