Torrie,
I'm totally game but I would want a dyno tune. So, what would it take (how many cars?) to get you up to Indy and spend a day or 2 tuning cars here? I already have a dyno lined up and the owner would be hands off, we basically control everything. It includes wideband capability, etc. 248c.
I do that sort of thing for clients all of the time. I can do one or ten+ cars there isn't a real numeric requirement to get me involved. But the individual cost decreases per car the more I split my expenses up.
I will go wherever anyone needs me to go.
Do we still need to go to the dealer for the throttle re-learn?
Yes but its painless and takes about 10 minutes.
Hmm... I wonder if we can get some houston gen 4 guys together for some tunes...
Well my Mopar pcm just went out on me so I am back to the stock pcm. I am going to wait for some results before I go buy another Mopar pcm. I hope to see some soon.
I have a Mopar PCM for sale if your interested pm me
The CEL came on then I realized a day or so later that the alternator was not charging. I took the alternator and battery and had them both checked at two different places. Both were good. Viper tech at Tomball suggested putting in the stock pcm so I did and that fixed the problem. This pcm only has about 1000 miles on it. It's just my luck to get a bad one.
Well at least you will get the big pop on the decl back! (This is Rich from MSR with the black/white red stripe ACR).
Is there anything new on this?
Any installs with any results?
I plan to get going on the tuning software as soon as I get the new engine broken in.....
Results are what I have generated here :

I'm shocked Gen IV guys haven't jumped all over this, is it because most of you already have a Mopar ECU? Sadly I doubt HP Tuners will ever work on Gen V stuff since the Gen IV crowd hasn't purchased.
We have nothing on the Gen V side so the first one out gets all the business.
Unfortunately that will most likely be the case.
Soon as I get a tranny back in the car (showing delivery on the 8th) I will get back to finishing my tuning up with Torrie. After that I will take the car to the dyno again.
That said, the car with a slipping clutch and a transmission with a bent input shaft, with Torrie's tune was making within 20rwhp of the Mopar PCM (602 vs. 622 STD) with a good clutch and tranny. And Torrie had the throttle response crisper than the Mopar PCM too.
Wow, so gen IV guys what's keeping you guys on the fence? Lets figure it out so we can get rolling on this. Is it that you haven't seen a care done other than Torries car? People afraid to be first? Already bought a Mopar ECU? What's the deal? If I still had my ACR I would be all over this even though I had the Mopar ECU.
tmcphail should start a new thread. With feedback only of who had the tune done and what they picked up with it.
Might give the IV owners some clarity to who has paid for this and what the gained. It would be easier than digging through 7+ pages. (which I have read twice, its good info)
If you have a thread with 5-10 owners chiming in of gains only, others may want to hop on. Try and keep the misc/talk/questions/answers to this thread.
Me, I am still trying to understand how this whole thing works. 20 credits? Has to be done on a dyno? Has to go to dealer for throttle relearn? That and I have a pile of parts in the garage that need to be installed first.
Buy the package from Torrie. He will give you the "credits" you need on the HP tuning program, installed on your laptop, to work on your Viper.
The first time you read the PCM, you need to be at the dealer, so they can do the throttle relearn. Mine did it while I sat in the customer service bay and then I hauled ass. 10 minutes...
From that point on, Torrie can log into your laptop while on a network, and tune your file on the HPTuner software. Then YOU take the laptop to your car and flash/write your PCM.
Car does not need to be on the dyno. You can put your laptop in our car and log with it while driving so Torrie can later look at what is going on while the engine is running. Torrie does however offer dyno tuning services as well, that are done while the car is on the dyno making pulls.
Torrie will not come to your house and install parts you lazy bastard.
