Welcome to the club and our Washington weather. It is hard to believe that May first it was 85 and sunny. Hope to see you at some shows or events. I am located in Bremerton and have a black 1999 RT-10.
The black gen V is a wicked looking viper. Awesome car and welcome.
First off, Welcome to the VOA. That's a nice Gen V you got there. Congrats on the purchase. Looking forward to meeting you at some of our events this year.
Welcome! Love to see new Gen V owners joining up! I also have a black Gen V.
Congrats and welcome
Welcome,
You should talk to Jon Brobst at Partsrack. He is in your neck of the woods and has been involved with the Viper since day one. He might be able to introduce you to some other owners out there.
Enjoy your new Viper, you will really learn to appreciate it on the open road and fast twistys. Try to get it on a road course, just to feel what it can do. Autocross is really fun, check local car club events!
Coming from a ZL1, give us your impression of the Viper. Did it take some time to understand its personality?
Have fun.
I have to admit, I wondered if I made a mistake on the drive home from the purchase. The interior felt very small, coming from the Camaro. After the first 50 miles, making adjustments to the seat, steering, and pedals, my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. I am infatuated with this car! From a performance perspective, this is a significant jump from the ZL1. Tremendous amount of grip on the Viper, and the thrust from 3,500 rpm is crazy. I do need to take some lessons, and learn more about this car. From a normal driving perspective, the only thing I am still learning, is the turning radius.
In my last post I forgot to mention how nice it will be to have a Gen V in the area. I am also waiting for a dry Saturday to go to Redmond Town Center.
I know of a couple of High Speed Driving Schools in the area. There is www.hookedondriving.com which has training and runs lots of track days at the Ridge Track in Shelton as well as Portland International Raceway. There is also www.proformanceracingschool.com , which uses the Pacific Raceway Track in Kent. One of the first things I did was attend a driving school when I got my Viper (a mere 450 hp.) , but it really helped on the street and got me started going to track days.
Congrats on your new Gen V "snake" and welcome to VOA.
Your licence plate doesn't say Stryker by chance does it?
WELCOME! Im waaay south of you near Portland, but this upcoming weekend May 10-11 I will be at "The Ridge Raceway" in Shelton WA on Sat-Sun. Id be happy to give you a sample of the track if you stop by at lunch time. No cost, just fun! (I'm an instructor and Pace Car driver.) If its raining, bring your daily driver..... partly-sunny forecast.
You can even 'splain to me what a "ZL1" Camaro is! Is that the motor? I gotta get a life outside VIPER!
Gimmee a call or email: JonB@PartsRack.com or 360.837.3937 and Ill send you a 1/32 scale diecast of YOUR CAR!

Congratulations on the beautiful auto! and welcome!
Welcome! As soon you get a chance, join the club! I'll have a copy of the Viper Quarterly issue that you missed at the next event.
E@RTC may be cancelled this week due to possible rain, but the XXX-Rootbeer Season Opener car show is rain-or-shine on Sunday the 18th, followed by our monthly dinner at Wild Fin in Issaquah.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Washington Forums and/or our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/waviperclub) for additional event details.

Sweet ride and nice color! Welcome.
Congrats. You're only about 11 hrs drive time from me!
I did the HP Driving lessons with JonB at Portland International Raceway and I recommend that everyone take the course. Here's that story; http://vipernation.com/2010/11/17/re...e-viper-rally/ It was published in the old Viper Magazine and I hope it helps.
When you're ready to compete and do some "vette spanking" there is an event in Las Vegas/Ely that I go spank vettes at - www.sscc.us I'd welcome some company to help bring home the trophies! You have the car, and there are so many roads.
What a gorgeous beast. Welcome to the family
