I seem to recall Ralph saying that the vert was designed at the same time as the coup and the race car. He also said, just cut off the top where it meets the body for a visual clue. He didn't give any clues as to the rear deck or the convertible mechanism.
Anyone else remember something like this?

I recall hearing that from pretty much the same thing. I am not doubting the convert at all.
