Will the install procedure be easier than the Gen IV ? or the same

This is awesome news! Definitely a step in the right direction for the Gen V! My only question now is when will we see an aftermarket supercharger kit available?

Will be the same, PCM will come with detailed instruction for the dealer to probe ly follow.

    This is all great news.

Once that and the other aftermarket power goodies come out, I guess everyone will have to find something else to complain about.

I have a feeling this will help sales a good bit.

Now, SRT, just pull a McLaren and give all 2013's a 60HP bump

    PCM + headers + hi-flow cats + ported heads + 3.73 =
But any chance the PCM will allow us to run Flex Fuel (E85)?

    On the list

BTW, you can already do 3.73 gears without the tuner. They will be just about perfect for the 1/4-mile, once we add the bolt-ons and tune. Would make it a lot easier to launch and also be easier on the clutch. I only wish we had the 0.50 sixth gear ratio though, to make them highway friendly.

    Bruce,

No chance for E85 with the new unit. Sorry dude! (But I like the way you think!!)

You would love the 2010 trans, it does what you state and more. It is sweet.

If it ever calls for a trans rebuild/swap, that is exactly what I'd go with.

Will it void any part of the drivetrain warranty Mark?

Has the potential to, but really can't unless proven the cause. There were not really any issues with the GenIV, but I cannot make actual promises as each dealer looks at these things differently.

BTW I wanted to thank all of you for your orders, I mean I knew it would be well received, but WTH! Haha. I have almost 40 now, but if you were put on the list and have not called with a CC to confirm I would ask if you please could when you have a minute. I do not want to order 50 of these and then have 20 to many LOL. Like I told one guy, I just might be out in the street looking in at that point...

    Thanks again,

Mark, I don't know if was asked yet but it this new PCM programmable/tunable? If so, is the tuning limited and solely done by an authorized dealer? Or, can it be tuned via SCT, for example? If I put you on the spot....that was the intent.

60 hp is usually easy on a twin-turbo motor; no so on a NA motor.

I saw that Jon posted that, but I don't know just how that would happen with just the PCM and no interface available to the buyer...

Now that may be possible "in the future" if the ones working on a flash tuner were able gain access to the "off road" PCM ???

So Mark, Could it be possible for a super charger in the near term with the new pcm?

    Thanks,
    Mark:

Good news on the new pcm.

Is this like the Venom Controller for the Gen IV or different? As some other posts have asked, will this be a canned-tune which takes care of CEL, raises rev limter slightly and has a bit of a change/flexibility on Air/Fuel, etc.? Or will it be custom-tunable and if so, who will be able to tune it?

Also, if you do not mind, could you expand a bit on your answer quoted above?

In particular, on an otherwise stock vehicle, running no more than 91 octane fuel, with no more than a Corsa Cat back and stock Cats, what kind of rwhp and rwtrq gains are estimated for the controller?

My understanding was with a Gen IV, the changes to a different PCM controller under the conditions specified would provide little or no change in power. Of course, if you added headers, high-flow cats, etc. then it was possible to hit 40-50+rwhp/rwtrq gains. If you tuned for 93 octane or higher, then some additional gains may be possible.

The potential gains are especially important in California where we have emissions and equipment checks on change in title and then every so many years which would make it difficult to run non-CARB Certified headers, except for offroad use.

Thank you for your estimated thoughts!
