Any Dodge Tech that can read and work on a car with the WiTech tools they use can do the PCM install in about 20 minutes, and if they have questions they can call me for support. FWIW

If I get the Arrow PCM now and then decide to go the supercharger route next year do I need the new PCM or have I just wasted $1100? Thanks

From what Mark has said the PCM will just be re-calibrated.

I bet Dan Cragin can do the upgrade. If not then I'd go to Motor Village LA
Use the Report a post feature... It works!

Dan does not have the WiTech connection that is needed for the PCM installation, but he would be the most capable candidate for the H/C installation. BUT the H/C package and PCM will never pass emissions in CA. so unless HPT can crack the codes to allow for a cam swap in the Gen5 and still retain all the needed ready codes not sure it is doable there.

Is it realistic for an individual or small shop to purchase a witech. I have been researching a puchase and there is all kind on conflicting info on the web.

alibaba shows a knock off for $695 and some seem happy with it. The mainstream sites show a $3300 starting point with maintenence fees of approx 2500/year.

    What is the real story

Not at all financially possible for a small shop and I have no idea how a knock off could work since they still have to pay Chrysler to access the dealer system.

I will be adding both features to HP Tuners VCM Suite.

You will not need access to a dealer system to use our tool.

I think he was asking about this so they could initialize a new PCM on their own without going to the dealer to do so. Are you saying that you can do this now? If so that will be a huge help to people that are afraid of going to the local dealers for the H/C install.

    Thanks Keith!

I really hope this means I can use HP Tuners to run my own selected Heads and Cam package on a Gen V. Thanks Keith.

It already can on the 13's and 14's.

Not sure where we're at on the 15's. It might have already been released.

    Keith

That is fantastic, assuming that will be in the scanner part of the suite.

    Andy:

You are going to have mechanical
and oiling issues if you go to an Non-arrow fixed cam. At least with Arrow the cam is kitted wth all parts for the install.

Another issue is the fuel pump, the oem pump will not take you over 700 hp for all conditions, again, the Arrow kit takes care of that.

    Mark,

You had mentioned the warranty would still be honored, is that the case with the ECU alone?

Any more details on the warranty status with any of these packages?

    Thanks

  18. #543
Any warranty issues will be addressed on a case by case basis, the warranty should not be just fundimentally voided.

Question I just drove back from the Dealership with the new PCM installed. I am getting a lot of loading up at low RPM'S driving through town. It loads up and I have rev it up a bit to clear it out. Any advise would be helpful.
    Thanks

Did the Tech let it idle HOT for 3 minutes with the A/C on and then 3 more with the A/C off? The PCM has to learn the engines needs to find the idle and that is determined somewhat by miles and engine drag from the load of the accessories.

If he did not follow that direction I would definitely have him redo it, if he did it and this has to do with fuel trims and idle air then some miles may help.

In the post above, I suspect that Mark meant to say "idle hot for 3 minutes with the A/C ON and then 3 more minutes with the A/C off..."
