Got any crazy/ funny Viper related stories

    1) I'm stopped at a light in the left lane of 2 left turn lanes. the light turns green and the guy in a BMW M5 in the right lane shouts "your car sucks" gives me a big thumbs down and takes off through the light. he goes around the corner loses it and side swipes the curb so hard he snapped off his right rear wheel and it flew into the woods. I turn around and come back by him while he is out staring blankly at his car. I told him only a pussy shouts something then speeds away and by the way your car is a piece of crap, the wheels fall off when going around corners.

    2) I stop at a Dunkin donuts for an ice coffee. A cute girl asks me if she can take a pic of my car. I said if you like I will take some pics of you in the drivers seat. She is sitting in the car and as I am snapping pics some guy comes running out of DD screaming "what is wrong with you? what kind of a woman gets in a strange guys car?, you rich guys are all the same and a bunch of other BS.

She tells him to go inside because he is embarassing her. she then slips me her number and drives away. I go inside for my coffee and gilligan is staring me down. he walks over and says that I ran his girlfriend off etc. and before I can open my mouth and in front of the whole store some old woman stands up, shakes her finger at him and says "son you ran her off yourself because you are acting like an immature, insecure manchild". The entire store burst into laughter and gilligan runs out crying, gets into his car and proceeds to drive over 2 curbs on the way out, ripping the exhaust system off his car. now stuck in the road a cop pulls up. The cop ends up being an old martial arts student of mine. As I drive past I say to him" Jimmy go easy on him he is a cryer". I then proceed to call her up and explain what happened. Ends up she was meeting him for the 1st time outside of work for coffee. we end up having a great few months together and then she moved to chicago for a new job. Gilligan got busted for driving an unregistered vehicle and having almost 8 grams of coke in his car!

    3) I'm leaving a stop sign in a very upscale section of town. there is construction going on and the speed limit is 15 mph. A cop pulls me over for doing 20 in a 15 mph zone. I apologize and told him my speedo goes from zero to 20 and I was guessing at how fast I was going. also with my upgraded tires my speedo is off a bit. He proceeded to go on about driving the speed limit and how people with these kind of cars are killing the environment and how much gas they use etc.
Then another cop pulls up and I figure I'm screwed. this cop is his captain and he happens to be a BIG TIME Viper fan. he asks me all about the car and would it be ok if he took a picture to send to his kids. I said sure if you like you can sit in it and I'll take the pics with you in the drivers seat.

so after 15 minutes or so of picture taking and car talk he tells me "you are free to go"! I said but the other officer was giving me a ticket for doing 20 in a 15 zone. he said "he is a rookie in training and I will handle this, have a great day and drive safe". not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I hi tailed it outta there and never looked back.

Just a few of the many, many stories that have accumulated in 7 years and 90,000 miles of Viper ownership.

I take my car to our local club meeting about 15 miles away. I avoid the interstates because of semi's. I am in a 4 lane road speed limit 45 and am on the inside lane coming up to a light. Not many cars ahead of me in my lane but several on my right. As i continue to pull forward the car next me gets pushed about 5 feet forward from a rear end collision on a gawker with his phone taking pictures of mine. The car that took the rear end collision grabs his phone so i head to the meeting. 2 hours later I am on my way home in a turning lane that crosses traffic and there is a car next to me who is going straight at the red light. I look over and BAM a PT cruiser plows into him. Same thing, gawking at my car. 2 wrecks within 2 hours. I head home quickly.

A few years back, wife and I are heading out for my birthday. I exit the freeway, take a left, heading back over and am stretching her legs pretty good just as I come over the crest with a cop taking radar. He is right on me, turns on the lights, I pull over. I'm very polite and respectful to him, mention we're heading out for my bday which he confirms when I give him my license. He asks me some questions (year, make/model, etc.) Goes to his car, comes back and asks my wife "does he ever let YOU drive it?". She says "absolutely". He says "anyone who lets his wife drive a car like this must be a good guy, Happy Birthday" no tkt... Lots of stories of kids peaking through the windows in parking lots. Have had lots of them sit in the driver's seat and then offer for dad to, also. They always did that. Just this week, I was leaving Kroger, walking toward the car (probaby 150 ft away). I hear 1 cart guy yell to another "Jimmy, get over here!!!". As I walk up to my car, the guy looks totally embarassed as his buddy comes over (they are 1 aisle over, open parking lot). I get in, rev it up and jump on it for the 50-60 feet they are away and stop right next to them. I turn off the ignition, step out and told the 1st guy "jump in man, get behind the wheel". He goes from feeling foolish to smiling ear to ear. He fists bumps his buddy as he climbs in and of course his buddy takes a few cool pics of him. Another future Viper owner is born....

I was going to the airport to pick up my son. I was stopped at a traffic light in the left lane. I looked in my mirror and saw a older dodge Neon in the same blue & silver paint scheme as my Viper! He pulls up next to me and yells over "Nice Car! Mine looks just like yours!" I was having a hard time not to laugh! He then said "Let's run 'em, just give me a headstart! " I couldn't keep from laughing at that. Luckily the light turned and I got out of there. The Neon didn't keep up.

Sitting at a stop light minding my own business and a hippy in a civic pulls up next to me.
Hippy: "You know you're killing the environment. Did that car make your dick bigger?"
Me: "Yeah, but only by an inch, I was pretty disappointed."
Light turns green and the hippy drives off with a dirty look on his face.

If you wanted to make him really feel bad you should have asked him if there was anything you could do to help. He would have really felt like an a$$.

    OK

Pulled into a dodge dealership some years back because I wanted to have a look at the new Challenger. Salesman comes out and we start talking. Now, he is a salesman at a Dodge dealership mind you. So we start talking about my Viper, and one of the first things out of his mouth was, "Does that have the Corvette engine in it?" And he was dead serious! Needless to say i didn't buy a Challenger from that dealership.

A couple friends and I sponsor a dyno day about 12, 14 and 16 hrs drive from out houses. We dyno disappointingly low (owner admits that the dyno down the street is at least 10% higher), but the dyno is a load tool that allows adjusting the tune of the car so it will run properly without getting any speeding tickets and only give an approximate indication of speed. Different dynos and different settings create different readings. First a TT GTS. 720whp at 10psi/1013whp at 18psi with w/m. Second car is a big Paxton SRT10. He tuned 740whp. I turned a disappointing 553whp. On the way home I discussed with C-note that he needs to race the TT GTS as they were compareable on the dyno at 10psi. He agrees that it would be interesting because of the straight line up on his dyno sheet while the TT was up and then flattened out somewhat. On paper the TT should kill the Paxton. "It's gonna be interesting," I thought.

Pulling into Hinton C-note and I pull up at a Red light and there are about 8 people standing across from the Chrysler dealership on mainstreet. C-note revs his SRT a bit, I look over and pick up a few revs on my loud Roe GTS. The light comes to Green and we drop clutches and roar into, then through the intersection. Both of us are sliding with the back of our cars a foot or two towards the right as we smoke our tires through the intersection. I am slightly ahead of the Copperhead and then just as we get through the intersection I drive away, leaving C-note in the dust. He slows and pulls over so I pull to the side and turn into a side road so I can get back to C-note. As I stop and get out of my car he drives past and parks in a restaurant lot. "Hungry?" I wonder, wave at Joel so he comes to the lot as well.

Oh no, C-notes car busted the rear posi. As he moved the clicking of the busted teeth on his gears could be heard as we walked beside his car. Win doesn't count for much because of breakage. We parked the car at the Chrysler dealership and I drove C-note while he called the airlines and bought a ticket home. We had fun, enjoyed a great Car weekend and everybody got home OK. C-note drove to Hinton with his trailer and got his car. Unitrax sold him a wavetrac posi and now he's looking to race me again.

Cop gave me a ticket while he was shooting radar from MY Motel parking lot. In a rural area with no one around or on the streets, I was not impressed. Later I was working with him and he bought a Honda CBR600. He asked to race my Viper. I explained that MY Viper was a race for a Haybusa and I figured I could kick a Haybusa's ass. 600 was the size bikes that my daughters (32 and 33 years old) owned and rode. He kept insisting. I mentioned that he had given me a speeding ticket for 70kph so a race would be pointless as he'd have to give us both tickets. He apologized for giving me the ticket the year before and said he would never give me a ticket again. He said we could go to the airport and race there ...

I was out in the Viper one day and decided that I'd show him. I stopped at the Police Station and told him to get into my car. I drove about 2 miles down the road, smoking the tires and drifting around a couple corners and then took him back. "See, that's why you don't want to race me. I'd kick your ass hard!"

"I know that I'd lose badly," he said. "I just wanted to race." ????????????

In the grocery store today and a well dressed dude comes up to me.
Guy: "Hey, that's your Viper, right?
    Me: "Yup"
Guy: How fast have you had it up to?"
Me: "Well, the speed limit here in WI is 65...so 65."
    Guy: "Good answer."
Me: "Keeps me out of trouble."
    Guy walks away laughing.
