Are the outer rocker panels plastic

    Hello everyone,

I had a mishap while trying to reverse my Viper up on to one of my lifts. I was crooked and too far over to the left up front, causing the front left of the car to go off of the drive platform and get stuck between the post and the platform. I ended up putting two small dents (no cracks) into the bottom of the driver side rocker panel, up at the front, behind the wheel.

I cannot see the dents from standing next to it, and its only visible from underneath. Are the painted side rocker panels standard plastic, or what exactly is the material? I am wanting to see if my dent guy can remove them, but want to give him as much info as possible so that he can use whichever method/tools may work best.

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply. Just so that I am sure we are talking about the same part…the rocker panel itself seems to be aluminum, but is the painted body panel that runs from wheel to wheel and incorporates the exhaust outlet aluminum, plastic, carbon or something else? They do not feel like metal to me, but I very well may be deceived. Thank you!

I ran over something on track in my GTS. Same issue in that it was only visible from underneath. The dent can be pulled out consistent with what's above.
