No dislike from me for the red car, however, a handful of inaccuracies in there it seems.

watched many episodes of that show and I was surprised to see the somewhat weak launches of the white GTC, is it the Kumho tires, the driver or is it just a slow car in comparison of all the monsters I've seen on that show?

If it has the stock transmission and differential gear ratios, first gear is looooooooong. That's been the bane of pretty much all Vipers when it comes to drag racing, and why those that do it competitively don't keep the stock gearing.

Or a manual transmission if they are really serious.

Yes, but the transmission first gear ratio changed for the Gen 5 Vipers. It is 2.26:1, which effectively negates the advantage of 3.55s in first gear.

Prior to 2013, first gear was always 2.66:1.

    oh! didnt know that

    so while I hit 45mph @ 6,000rpm with my 2.66/4.10, a Gen 5 hits 61mph @ 6,000rpm with 2.26/3.55 with the very same 355's Kumho...

    That's quite a difference.

    Bingo.

It's something that is often overlooked.

It's just done for 0-60 times so magazine writers don't have to shift.
