Agency Power Upgrades (CAI and Exhaust)

    CAI:

    http://www.agency-power.com/catalog/...42tm9nrtdbeme3

    Titanium Catted Exhaust:

    http://www.agency-power.com/catalog/...42tm9nrtdbeme3

I searched under Agency Power and didn't find anything posted, as I am new to the forum. Anyways, apologies if there is already a thread on these parts.

Noticed these when searching for potential mods for the GenV. The CAI looks particularly interesting to me because of the low price and claimed performance gains (not to mention sound improvements). The exhaust looks very high quality and sounds great (to me at least).

Anyone installed these? If so, what is your experience with the product?

    Many thanks!

Yea, I noticed no power claims for the exhausts, not sure what to think of that

Did the Corsas myself but neither corsa or these guys are advertising any true hp gains it seems.

How do you like them? Did you install yourself?

Have you dyno'd the car? If not, any seat of the pants? Drone? Sill heat reduction?

Sorry for all of the questions, just not finding a ton of info on these parts...thank you for your help

Corsas were $1000 cheaper than those. I think they "feel" a bit more powerful, but in reality who knows. I installed them over winter and didn't really have much time to give them a go and do a compare of before/after.

I did it all myself, I am not a big wrench turner (I know how to change the oil) - but in 5hr I was able to do it myself.

Heat, I think it feels a bit cooler, but have only gotten 300mile in them installed.

    Drone is virtually gone

    They really sound great, IMHO.

The one possible problem is the fact that you lose the high pressure air input. The factory box is sealed to the duct, this one is not. It is very difficult to dyno/assess a CAI on a dyno, you really have to be moving. I t sure is interesting,

Good point. Hopefully someone tries one out (they are pretty reasonable) and is able to access the possible improvement. 15HP in the mid-range is nothing to sneeze at...

These definitely have my attention. If they can come up with a sealed box to ensure only outside air (cold air) is getting ingested by the engine, and I see a 3rd party dyno showing repeatable gains, I'm in. The Gen 4 guys have been burned on the K&N setup which is very similar and actually was costing power over the OEM setup according to those who have dynoed back to back.

The 30 lb loss they are claiming on the exhaust system is pretty impressive.

Isn't that the catless system, if so, that is what you would expect. What is also a little suspect is the 585 hp on a mustang dyno, they usually show at least 10% less than a dynojet.

The description says it has cats. I agree on the dyno though. I seriously don't think any after market exhaust system will increase power over the stock unit. OEM's have a lot of technology at their disposal to create high flowing exhaust systems with the right amount of back pressure without being loud. That's why no Gen IV's saw any HP increase from exhaust only. If someone sees an increase, I bet it would be close to 5-10 HP and a lot of factors besides exhaust could yield that difference.

The picture on the scales shows cats too.

I would like to have a 30lbs titanium exhaust for my ACR. Pretty pricey though.

Definitely pricey. Looks great to me though and that is a lot of weight savings. I wonder how the titanium does with heat transfer?

My concern with this setup is matching it to a pair of Belangers. Seems to be setup to mate to the stock manifolds.

    Anyone tried the exhaust yet?

Love how the car sounds stock; but wish it was a little louder outside without the little drone we have inside.

Video clips are hard to tell; Corsa sounds almost identical to stock for the most part and only fractionally louder.

Don't want to hi-jack thread but is Belanger making an exhaust for our Gen V snakes??? I tend to agree in that the sound clips of Corsa don't sound much different from stock (will need to hear in person to be sure)... I had Belanger cat back exhaust on my Gen I & loved the sound & bump in hp...

Yes, Belanger is making a cat back for the Gen V. In fact that is what I have.

There is a Gen V local to me running the titanium setup. I have not heard it yet in person, but I hope to soon. I'll report back.

I'm with Jack. The intake dyno shows a max hp of around 600 to the wheels on a mustang dyno. Something is fishy there.

Would love to know how it sounds.

Curiosity if nothing else. Its a bit pricey, but different.

Sorry to bring an old thread back up, but has anyone else tried the titanium set-up from Agency Power? It seems to be a nice weight savings and sounds awesome:

anyone recognize the wheels on the car in the link?

That Viper is familiar...VirtualRacing I believe. Finally someone does a titanium exhaust for the snake. Its long overdue...I hope it has comparable gains to the Corsa etc. Nice weight savings to be had especially for the TA's and upcoming ACR's at the track...And it sounds great on top of all that. It wont be cheap.
