Might want to crop out your personal info…

On the bright side, winter is coming and you caught it before it popped so it should be a much cheaper and quicker rebuild. Based on how much of a beat down you have been giving it, I’d say you got your $$$s worth!

Pokey, was the Mobil 1 10W-40 oil the "high milage" version?

It might be, I was having trouble finding oil at that time supply line short... Why?

I was taking a guess based on the zinc and phosphorus levels...which are lower than what I personally prefer. Interestingly, the SUS viscosity was low...reminding me of why I stopped using Mobil 1's 10W-30 in our Vipers back in 2004 since the SUS tested low in both virgin and used oil analyses...along with the lower zinc and phosphorus levels.

Frankly, in my opinion, Mobil 1's labeling can be somewhat confusing: "High Mileage", "Extended Performance", "Extended Performance High Mileage", "Annual Protection", "ESP", "ESP Formula", "ESP X2", "FS", "FS X2", "M". Does it really matter to most folks?? Probably not to many.

I will look forward to hearing about your next step(s).

that is the very first negative report i have seen in years... i was starting to wonder if they ever did give one. having any oil control issues?

Maybe I took the sample too late in the drain process? Or did not let the engine get hot enough? I dislike handling hot oil.

I know for sure what oil is in there now (Mobil-1, 0W-40, euro), and the day changed 3 Oct 2022. Miles 19987.

I'm going to drive it a some more Auto-X events and recheck. 3 months from now.

May do a compression test see if the rings are going. Chrome high/iron. Only place the two meet!

I know my tune is "Rich", may be washing the oil from cylinder walls. Need to put a WB O2 on it to see how high.

I do not have any use issues/or burn any oil.

In a way, it does not all add up to me at this point.

You might also consider checking TBN with next UOA.

Here's a bad report from my 1995 6.5 Diesel Suburban where they accurately predicted the impending bearing failures due to a blown headgasket 4 years and 10,000 miles prior. During initial headgasket failure, the truck ran an additional 25 miles to get to a safe location and the oil was contaminated in the process. Head gasket was repaired but damage was done. I replaced the engine in 2017.
