A BIG Thank You to Steve Indy

Over this past weekend I was participating in a 3-day road rally with about 30 cars (mostly Porsche’s) in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. During one of our stops, my ‘99 Gen2 decided not to start (I’m original owner and never had an issue).

I was fortunate to get in contact with Steve-Indy, which he walked me through a series of things to diagnose it. After about 90mins. of being on/off the phone with him, we finally got the car running after performing (which I believe) was a soft-reset of the electronic entry module.

I’ll let Steve-Indy share any details around the issue/resolution, if he feels it’s valuable.

I live in Chicago and was somewhat in a remote area with very little options, except getting the car sent home on a flatbed, but Steve-Indy saved my a$$, plus I had no issues with the car over the next day couple days.

Obviously I wanted to find a way to re-pay him, but he was too kind and truly wanted to help — I can appreciate that! I’ve been a club member since 2000, and been reading the VCA to VOA discussion boards since the mid 90s. I want to give back somehow, so it got me thinking more about the Viper community and the people that participate and support it in so many different ways. So I feel the best way to give back is to further support the VOA by increasing my membership to Mamba when I renew this year.

Thanks again Steve-Indy, I’ll be in touch soon!

Agreed! He has helped me and many others and is one of the main reasons I'm still a Mamba Member.

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

"aaworm" and his group deserve a special THANKS for putting up with me while we followed a few false leads. This case was far from the usual pathway for such an issue. That said, the support offered by the travel group was phenomenal...tools, insights, and patience !!

This thread could go on for a month and not cover all the folks Steve has helped over the years. I was bummed I was so busy at the Viper Showdown at the Indianapolis Speedway that I got very little time to spend with my old friend, and yet, it was no surprise that practically everyone in attendance wanted to chat with one of the most " Helpful " Viper owners in the World. Steve's praises from members will never cease because he has a such a strong " Viper Passion " for both the car and the owners ---- and if you are an owner you are virtually automatically a friend in Steve's mind.

Great to see you my friend and though you are always modest, we all love you and appreciate all you have done over the Decades!

Thank you, Bill...your comments mean a lot to me. I will never forget meeting you at my first Viper Days event at Gateway near St. Louis in about 1997 or 1998. Though you were very busy with car stuff, you took time to show me around the the paddock. It was a great day !! Through the years since then, you always shared your knowledge and friendship with Elaine and me...for which we are both grateful. Stay well, My Friend.

I/we hope to see you soon at another Viper event !!

I hope so , Steve, as our time together was just too short at the Speedway.
