Over this past weekend I was participating in a 3-day road rally with about 30 cars (mostly Porsche’s) in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. During one of our stops, my ‘99 Gen2 decided not to start (I’m original owner and never had an issue).
I was fortunate to get in contact with Steve-Indy, which he walked me through a series of things to diagnose it. After about 90mins. of being on/off the phone with him, we finally got the car running after performing (which I believe) was a soft-reset of the electronic entry module.
I’ll let Steve-Indy share any details around the issue/resolution, if he feels it’s valuable.
I live in Chicago and was somewhat in a remote area with very little options, except getting the car sent home on a flatbed, but Steve-Indy saved my a$$, plus I had no issues with the car over the next day couple days.
Obviously I wanted to find a way to re-pay him, but he was too kind and truly wanted to help — I can appreciate that! I’ve been a club member since 2000, and been reading the VCA to VOA discussion boards since the mid 90s. I want to give back somehow, so it got me thinking more about the Viper community and the people that participate and support it in so many different ways. So I feel the best way to give back is to further support the VOA by increasing my membership to Mamba when I renew this year.
Thanks again Steve-Indy, I’ll be in touch soon!
