    Trofeo R or Cup 2R

    Anyone who has tried any of these combinations?

    Trofeo R 295/30ZR19
    Trofeo R 345/30ZR20

    CUP 2 R 305/30ZR19
    CUP 2 R 335/30ZR20

    I would love to hear your experience since I'm thinking of switching to one or the other. It's for track use btw.

    Both are as faster than a Hooser R7 for a couple laps. Both are very expensive. The Goodyear 3R's are very close and half the price.
    But it doesn't matter these sizes will not work. They are too tall for one (all are about 1" taller they will probably rub), but these sizes throw the front/rear ratio way off, the traction/stability system will go into limp mode for sure.
    Stock ACR sizes:
    295-25-19 24.8"
    355-30-19 27.4"
    2.6" different front to rear


    Trofeo R 295/30ZR19 26.0
    Trofeo R 345/30ZR20 28.1
    2.1" front to rear difference, I don't think these will work

    CUP 2 R 305/30ZR19 26.2"
    CUP 2 R 335/30ZR20 27.9
    1.7" different front to year. These 100% will not work

    One of my friends have been doing track duty with his ACR with the below tires and he claims that the traction/stability worked just fine. As you can see, the circumference difference are much smaller on these.

    Pirelli Trofeo R 295/30ZR19 - 26,2”
    Pirelli Trofeo R 325/30ZR19 - 26,8”

    As for rubbing, no problem there either. Well, the rears are smaller than the kumhos so no surprise there but there was no issues with the fronts.

    Where do they have Trofeo R's in 345s? Ive only seen 325. I always wanted to put that tire on the car.

    I've tested and compared both Trofeo R and Cup 2 (non-R) on Porsches

    Trofeo R is barely streetable. It's almost a track-only tire, I'd say.

    The Cup 2 is more forgiving, warming up is much more manageable. But high levels of performances (track) diminishes quickly with the Michelin compared to the Pirelli.

    I think Michelin, in general, offers better quality tires than Pirellis but the Cup2 doesnt last as long and doesnt handle severe punishment as well.

    If your goal is absolute best lap times and you're ready to change the tires more often, probably the Cup 2 R is the best option

    .5" difference front to rear ratio from factory puts it right at the limit. It might work for some, and not for others.


    For example I ran these for years on my 2016 ACR and 2013 with no issues:
    Hoosier A7
    335-30-18 25.6"
    345-35-18 26.8"
    But Pappy runs them and car goes into limp mode on track often.'


    And with these Pirelli's, with the 660's my car would go into limp mode during the first lap, then it would come out of it on it's own by 2nd lap. Like it had to "learn" that I was on track. Who knows. The 650's worked fine.
    325-650-18 25.6"
    325-660-18 26"
    325-705-18 27.8"

    Yes, but you have to go up to 20"
