    Skateboard Ride Quality Normal

My 2004 SRT10 has only 26,000 miles on it, but I'm wondering if my shocks are blown. It literally rides like a skateboard. Hitting a bump in the road judders the entire car to the point that it sounds like it's going to fall to pieces, and hitting a bump at highway speed can literally make the entire car jump inside the lane, which is mildly terrifying. I had a 98 GTS before this, and the suspension wasn't this hard. I had my car on a lift today installing some cats, and I noticed there is some fluid buildup on the bottoms of the shocks. Seems like they might be shot? Or is this crazy stiff ride quality normal?

With no oil, or gas pressure in the shocks, you will have no control over shaft velocity in either bump or rebound. If a big bump puts the car in full compression, then on rebound the springs are going to unbind, throw the body up and suddenly unload the tires with just the sort of effects you describe.

You also might check the condition of your sway bar end links if you haven't.

That settles it. Time for some new shocks, haha.
