Exhaust heat turning side panels brown what can be done

As stated above, panels are starting to turn. You have to look as it is more of a dirty look right now. I don't thing a pic will show it.

I could stop racing the car would fix it. Never had this until I started doing auto-cross.

2004 and it is Viper Bright White!

I have high flow cats, and factory heat shields in place, one side is also thermal wrapped.

Exhaust is MOPAR race exhaust. Any ideas???

My guess is heat soak. Short duration, high load, then no air movement after the runs.

More heat shielding. Readily available - in many forms - from Thermo-Tec or DEI. Beats painting body panels...

I have Thermo-Tec on one side now. No difference.

In Auto-X, you don't get a cool-down lap. You still need to do one. I never park my car until the high-speed fan relay is not running any more. That usually means driving around the parking area at low speeds for a couple of minutes.

For the record, I have heat shielding affixed around BOTH my (C6) starter / solenoid [which are two, cylindrical and visually distinct parts (but mounted and sold together as the "starter" by AC Delco] AND about 12" (in length) of the collector/ header which is inches from the starter. Admittedly, my application of heat shielding may be overkill but I wanted to be sure I had remedied my heat soak problem. Based on your comment, it sounds like heat soak is still a problem after your application of heat shielding. Just make sure what you've got is sufficient and / or the heat shielding (in whatever form it takes) is applied to your satisfaction. You might want to add shielding or change it up in some fashion. Just trying to be helpful. Obviously, something isn't right if body panels adjacent to exhaust components are becoming discolored due to heat.
