    High oil pressure

    Hey guys,
    I’m having issues today with high oil pressure. I started the car and it’s going to red line 100 psi… let it warm up and drove it around 100psi the entire time. It’s fresh oil, I just replaced the oil cooler lines, everything is hooked up the same. I’m running 0w40. It’s a 2004 model. When I turn off the car it’s staying at 50psi which leads me to think it’s a bad gauge. It’s not dropping to zero until I turn the key all the way off. Where should I start?

    Sending unit?

    Do you know where that’s located on this engine? Do I just hook a gauge up to it and see what it’s actually doing?

    The sending unit is located on the engine where the rear oil cooler line attaches (the oil temp sender is there also). The sending unit, 56028807AB, is used on many Chrysler vehicles, so no Viper tax.

    Well it was the oil pressure sender. I replaced it and now It’s running normal. For anyone doing this in the future, it is underneath the alternator. The forward sensor is the pressure sensor, the aft sensor is the temp sensor. I took the air box and the alternator off to give me more room. It’s a 27mm socket or a 1 1/16. It’s super tight, sucks to get to. The connector has a tiny locking piece that just be slid over before it will come off. Thanks for the help guys. Brandon
