Decided to make a little change

Found a whole deck lid and carbon spoiler for $2400 + shipping so I couldn't pass it up:

    Chopping off my massive wang.

    Before:

    After:

It's in the shop getting stripes painted on (correctly).

Gonna take some getting used to, but I think I like it better. I also like being able to take it to professional events.

BTW, does anyone make a third brake light layover? I'd love to make the gray outline black.

I went to a graphics place and they were able to scan the brake light and make me a black third light overlay and then overlayed with window tint.

I really like it with the "narrowed" tail lights. Looks sleeker IMO.

I didn't notice it until at least a month after I can the car but the previous owner painted around the tail lights. Really good job- I couldn't find any color difference at all.

    The diffuser is from ACRish.
BTW, it definitely works. I went over a dirty/muddy puddle and it looked like someone stood behind my car and flung dirt at the rear bumper. I cleaned it off, but not the plates You can still see it on the plates.
What does this mean? Air is definitely getting sucked up and "rooster tailed" up.

Wish we knew the values of the downforce for the individual elements.. would like to balance the rear diffuser set out with corrisponding front aero.. I.e. we know the TA front splitter works with the TA rear splitter.. but add the rear diffuser do you need to add the TA 2.0 splitter for compensation or also maybe one of the ACR canards.. no wind tunnels in my garage. ha

Thats an old sailers trick for sure.. but doesnt cover magnitude of the aero.. how much additional front aero is needed to balance the added diffusers.. i donno. wish we had the values

Unfortunately the companies producing the parts don't have the money or desire to spend the money on wind tunnel testing and the logistics of it all.

Now, if you want some data driven aero, contact AJ Hartman.

I'm 99% sure I'm going with a full time attack aero setup this winter from him.

If you do, please start a thread on it. There's so much space/bodywork behind the back of a C.C. I always figured an enormous rear diffuser could be used. Muzzy had ORECA body work on his Comp Coupe before putting a Gen V body on it. Woodhouse is is running a different rear wing and diffuser.

    I will.

Bob worked with AJ on his, so I'm sure it'll be similar.

Kind of. We don't even know that. I would very much guess the TA front splitter does a lot less than the TA spoiler, especially if the car isn't lowered significantly. Splitters, flat underbody, diffuser, etc don't do much of anything unless they're low to the ground.

So many variables. Everything from ride height to speed affects everything. It's not even a constant ratio. Just speaking intuitively (aka completely out of my ass), the spoiler becomes less and less effective (relatively speaking) as speed gets higher and you just create a sublayer over it. Now it's pretty tall so maybe not so much, but a wing won't have that issue. A splitter and wing won't continue to increase at the same ratio either.

I've driven without the wing at the track though. It still pushes. It's still a FE vehicle riding on 295s up front and 355 in the rear. I'm probably going to add the ACRish splitter, and I'm a little worried about it oversteering, but it should be fine between the diffuser and spoiler. I doubt it overpowers them by that much.
