I put a 10 qt pan on my car last week. I just measured the old pan's screw and it is #10-24 x just under 1/2".

No disrespect Dean, but with all of your racing over the years, you just upgraded to the 10 Qt. pan? If so, I guess the stock '96 pan wasn't actually that bad.

    Thanks, Ron

It's actually the 3rd pan the car has had. The OE was replaced early under warranty due to an early batch of porous castings. I ran the second 7.5qt pan for around 3 years before putting trap doors in it and the #3 rod bearing looked fine. Even at the 37k mi rebuild, all the journals looked good and the rod bearings were only just showing a bit of wear.

I really think it has more to do with my driving style and being always mindful not to run on the limiter in long, high G turns. The big carousel at COTA has me concerned though and it's my new home track. I can run it in 3rd and be at 5k at T18, or run 4th and keep the oil down in the pan instead of on top the valves.
