Thanks! It looks like for whatever reason there was a 51 car entered but that was chassis C40 and had the traditional Larbre livery you're accustomed to seeing. Still odd they would have tested with a different car.
European Viper friends, please tell me the linked article is not referring to the same Zakspeed GTS-R that achieved multiple overall and class wins at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, chassis C15. That car at one point has the hinged rear bodywork to allow for the infamous quick change fuel cell. If this is the same car then that would be the ultimate Viper racing history shame!

For those out there still interested in these amazing cars, I THINK I may have finally finished combing through the basic history of all the cars that Team Viper ORECA raced as part of their factory supported effort from 1996-2000. There are still articles to look through in search of details from individual races, but I have plenty of customer chassis to sort through first to determine their basic history and where they may be today.
Interesting note that perhaps Florent, Stan, or Edwin can help us answer - most of the cars used by the team during their final season in 2000 had little to no racing life after it ended. This is quite different than early cars which went on to have long racing careers in the hands of secondhand customers.
The strangest part to me is that chassis #C31, perhaps the most dominant ORECA car ever built and the 2000 Le Mans winner, seemingly went on to be have the most customer races after its factory days were over out of that 2000 team. If anything I would have guessed that car would have been preserved.
Your work is amazing Shawn! congrats and thanks to share all of these informations. You're writing the GTS-R Bible.
Thanks Stan! I'm just trying to root through and centralize the information that's been published over the years while hopefully uncovering new stuff along the way!
Nice work! C14 is now owned by Daniel Schrey, look his name up on youtube for some nice footage. Maybe you can add that info to the sheet?
Great picture! I reached out to Zakspeed this morning but unfortunately they aren't willing to share any information on the GTS-R history.

Beautiful! What's the current engine configuration?
Current engine is Spec 2002 unlimited
940bhp / 1250Nm torque with 1150Kg dry weight... Thing moves so to say....
That's great. Hoping to see some pictures of that. I'm curious which intake manifold and headers are used.
Have you an idea how many gts-r are still in USA ?

I haven't gone through every chassis yet and people don't always like to talk about it but I know of 4 for sure in the US (P1, C7, C21, C31) and possibly 5 others that were here and still may be (C1, C4, C6, C32, C33).
There are 16 chassis that I'm not sure about at all.

@fatboy,
I also have the front facia with the car that festured those lights, had a truckload of parts with it. 16 wheels, bodypanels, mechanical parts etc.
Sound this beast makes is really something else!
Awesome, thanks for posting the pics.
As for the people who like to see more detail pictures, this is the enginebay and a shot of the headers.
