Rock auto is where I've gotten them the last couple times.
Mopar 05038041AA
In light of supply issues, I would have no problem running a Wix 57063 (Or Napa Gold).
Mobil1 M1210A (M1-210)
Amsoil EA011 (was being made by Donaldson)
you tried Chuck Tator, Tators Garage? buy 3+ at a time, VOA discount too

I just got some from theviperstore.com last week.
I've had luck on Amazon.
Correct.. national back order till 3/10 and new part number..
General warning to be careful ordering "OEM" parts on Amazon or eBay. There are a lot of really convincing Chinese counterfeits on there. Boxes, labels, etc all look extremely convincing.
I'm sure they aren't counterfeiting Viper oil filters... but in general, it's worth paying attention to who is actually supplying the parts you get on those sites.
Has the new part number been released? Very curious
Fram XG2 is what I've used for a while now. They are 20,000mi filters so I change it every other oil change. I put about 10,000mi/yr on my Viper so it's fine. I use the same filter on my daily driver and change it every 20,000mi along with the oil (yes every 20,000mi). Viper oil gets changed every 5,000mi or 2x's per year. The car sees mostly daily driver type miles and mostly hwy with a few fun on-ramp romps but other than that it's just used but not abused.
I guess I used up the world's supply of filters. I changed at 500 miles, 1500 miles (end of break-in), after each track day, and every time the odometer reaches a 2000-mile increment or six months, whichever occurs first. I don't think I have ever exceeded 1000 miles between any two changes, and I change the filter (OEM) each time. Why? -- because I can. I just ordered another half dozen filters from a local shop that generally has very good connections. I'll let you know if he has any luck.

Just use the Wix 57063, Wix makes the Dodge OEM filter so they are basically the same filter
Ditto, been using Wix for years on all my cars.
I tend to agree with this recommendation. I use Wix filters on my track stuff, but I have tried to keep OEM filters on my other cars, especially the high performance stuff that uses a "special" filter. The other day I went to a Chevrolet dealer to pick up filters for my GM vehicles, and they tried to give me oil filters called "Precision something-or-another" that carried a label reading "precision built especially for Auto Nation" along with the made-in-China tags. The o-ring was thinner and the can appeared to be of a thinner gauge metal. Who knows what was inside the filter element! The filters were about 2/3 the price of the AC Delco OEM filters. They are using those filters for warranty work and dealer oil changes. The Viper tends to run at pretty high oil pressure, especially at high rpm, so a good, high burst strength filter is probably a good idea, not to mention the quality of the filtering element.

Edit: The filters pictured are not for the Viper. I checked and it does not appear that Wix makes a "race grade" filter for the Gen 5.

Disclaimer: The following represents Viper history...at a time when there was a great line of communication between the Viper owners and the Viper engineers via the Club Forum.
The following old post explains why SRT engineers felt it was necessary to have a Viper specific oil filter for our Viper engines:
"From the SRT Engineers:
The SRT oil filter for all the past engines and the new 22mm inlet SRT filter for the Gen 4 and beyond engines share the same characteristics.
We worked with many of the filter suppliers to get the best features. Some fell out for various performance reasons but we ended up developing the current SRT filters with one of the mainstream manufacturers (it is different than their commercial offerings - or at least was when we developed it). The high flow oil pumps in our large engines (Viper is the biggest) can overpower the internal relief valve. When this valve opens it allows some of the high pressure dirty oil to bypass the filter element in order to keep the filter from being damaged. The SRT filters do indeed have a higher differential bypass valve to make sure all the oil delivered to your powerplant is clean. The housing is slightly thicker than many of the brands out there to handle the pressure but is not the thickest. The real thick ones failed our development testing (fractured at the crimped flange). The media used was one of the latest synthetics that allowed very fine filtration, more debris capacity, and much lower restriction than our standard Mopar filter (and just about every other filter out there). The final result was clean oil to your Snake, all the time, with more pressure to the internals where it is needed. I would fully recommend using this filter in your beast, I do in mine. Hope this info helps. KCC"
As far as I am concerned, you can use whatever you want for your oil filter...after all, everyone is an expert.![]()
The way FCA is now I wouldn't want to be putting in a drive train warranty claim and have a WIX filter hanging off my motor. That's why I only use the Mopar filter and only use Pennzoil versus Mobil at 1/3 the price. Change the oil as detailed in the manual. My car has less than 1500 street miles on it and I've changed the oil 6-7 times. What a COMPLETE waste of money..
Thanks guys for the info.
i bought 6 oem 05038041AA oil filters yesterday from a local dealership since i couldn't get them off amazon like i normally do. dealer said when he went to check in the back he had about 15 more. i may snag the rest up.
