1997 Viper GTS Power Doors Not Working And Will Not Start

Car Was Running Perfect A Few Days Ago... Issues Started When Battery Went Dead With Doors Locked. I Had to Use Key To Open Rear Hatch And Use Emergency Release Handles Located On Inside B Pillars. Once Doors Open The Alarm Was Going Off And Doors Would Not Open From Outside Or Inside As No Power To Doors. The Car Would Start But Shut Off In 3 Seconds As Alarm Cuts Off Fuel Pump. I Reset Alarm By Grounding Green Wire. The Lights/horn No Longer Flash. Then I Tried Jump Starting As Battery Was Weak. Now The Car Only Cranks And Does Not Start For The 3 Seconds Just Turns Over? There Is Spark And 50ish psi Of Fuel Pressure Right Before Injectors…Pulled A Plug Not Fouled Or Smell Like Gasoline. The Doors Are Still Not Working And The Car Will Not Start. I Replaced The Battery Still Does Not Start. I Verified The Computer Is Communicating...When I Turn Key On The Check Engine Light Does Come On Then Go Off And The Fuel Pump Does Go On For A Few Seconds And Goes Off Does Not Stay On. Tried Unplugging Computer And Battery Still Will Not Start Or Open From The Power Doors... Please Help...

your alarm is stuck in activate mode. the way the alarm works is it kills the pulse to the injectors - so you still get spark and fuel pressure just no pulse. you can confirm if you have a pulse tool, or youtube how to test pulse using a basic multimeter or dc test light (there are 2 wires to each - one is constant power and other is neg pulse as cranking).

you need to deactivate the alarm - i know on the 00 RTs there is a key switch inside the glove box thingy to force a deactivation - does the gts have a similar key switch?

Last Time This Happened on My 96 I Just Touched The Green Wire To Ground And Alarm Reset...I Did That And Alarm Not Going Off Anymore...When Alarm Was Going Off It Would Start For 3 Seconds And Just Shut Off...Now It Just Cranks Over...There Is No Key In Console In 96's Unfortunately

The reason it started for 3 seconds originally is because at first there was left over fuel inside the plug from the injector from the last time you shut off the car - but after a few tries the injectors no longer get pulse and thus the plugs are dry.

This happened to my 00. The weird thing was the fob worked (would activate/lock and deactive/unlock) and even stop the alarm siren if I opened the door - everything appeared to work as it should but the module somehow was still stuck in activate mode. There is a procedure to force the alarm off - I did that and it instantly fired up (mine was stuck for days until I figured it out). I'd suggest to PM Steve-Indy as he was able to provide the process - I can't recall 100% which wires need to be worked on. But it is not the green on ground you mention - it is providing pos to a particular wire for 1 second.

Like Dan said, feel free to give me a call 317 402 9013... and I will try to help. In the meantime, keep the battery charged. If you are using a charger with a "start button" or " boost to start switch", NEVER use those amperage surges on a Gen II Viper for risk of blowing the PCM.

Low voltage will activate anti theft. Boost it and see if it stays running.
