just put on toupee for first time on my 2000 RT GOOD FOR EMERGENCIES I GUESS

Just bought my 2000 RT a month ago. Just installed the softop (toupee) today for the first time. The softtop has a few patches and needs some work to look perfect, but not sure if I'm going to invest in that - kind of looks funny to me, at least compared to the hardtop which I love. I guess I'll keep the softtop in the trunk in case of emergencies (getting caught in the rain).

I think the thing that looks the weirdest is the back - with the hardtop the back fits tight against the top rail of the Viper - with the softtop there is a 1-2" gap due to weather stripping on the softtop - is this normal??

    Thanks

mine fits flat in the rear, maybe the metal supports are in the wrong location? But, mine will begin to lift a bit at about 50MPH and I can see daylight between the windshield and the top seal. I don't think it will do much good for rain, but maybe to keep the sun off if I feel like going slow.

Im not a huge fan of the OEM molar top because the sport pad must be removed to put the top on. It is a pita. The hard tops from autoform use his soft top studs to attach the hard top and the soft top. I think I will be purchasing one of those at some point.
