    New Owner Checking In

Hey all. I'm the proud new owner of a 2014. I've been lurking around for quite awhile now and utilizing the knowledge shared here helped me with my purchase greatly. I was originally looking at very different cars (991 turbo, R8, NSX, GT500) and after having owned several superb American Icons (97 C5, 08 C6, 11 Mustang GT, 19 ZL1 1LE) and one British Mustang (F-Type R :P) I just couldn't get away once I checked out a gen V. The Viper is a totally unique experience. I'm looking forward to enjoying the car and getting more involved with the community. Cheers!

Welcome! You’re at the right spot. The members here have been so helpful to me so far. I hope you have questions that I can answer someday cause of their knowledge passed on. Nice ride!

    Congrats, and welcome aboard.

I would suggest that you reach out to (and join) your local Region of the VOA for a list of activities and resources. "It takes a village...".

Congrats. I'm new to the community as well (bought the car this week). The community seems to be really supportive and friendly. Think we're both going to enjoy it. Beautiful car!

Congrats. I’ve driven a bunch of different cars and I remember after getting mine that they all felt like the same car compared to the genv. Very unique car.

Welcome to the joy of Viper Ownership. We would love to see you join the VOA and attend some of our upcoming events. End of August we are in Charlotte. September is Mopars on the beach in Myrtle Beach and we will close out the year at Biltmore in early November.

Hahaha you took the words out of my mouth. I honestly think the base viper should have come with TA 1.0 aero

+1 on the TA aero, or go nuts and do the full ACR-E conversion!

Thanks yall for the warm welcome. I will definitely link up with the VOA and get in on some of these events.

First thing I feel like this car needs is some damn sway bars. I've seen the TA 2.0 are the way to go?

Id love to get some aero on the car. How much ground clearance do we lose with the front splitter? I think I'm barely getting up the driveway as it is.

ACR conversion fills my dreams at night...

Congrats! I'm getting my car this week (I hope) and I've been looking around at the clearance as well. From what I've seen, the car has a natural 5 inch ground clearance and I don't anticipate the splitter bringing it much closer to the ground. From what I've heard is that the length of the splitter is what causes the problems and you should be able to clear speed bumps 4.5 inches and shorter, but struggle going into steep initial inclines (parking garages, driveways, parking lots, ect.). I am still debating going with the TA aero (since I've seen that the rear wind is "free aero" with there being 400lbs of downforce and no extra drag) or the ACR/ ACR-E aero kit from APR (since it's a fraction of the price of the other companies).

Here in the Triangle we all get our parts from Al at Capital CJD in Garner. He does parts for us at 10% over cost. Send me a DM and we can exchange info. I'm happy to help you get acquainted with the Viper community here in NC. We currently have 60 members across the Carolinas.

Yeah. That little spoiler just makes the car an entirely different car, it's night and day

I'm lowered on coilovers with a carbon front lip and it's fine. And my car is VERY low. Stock height- I wouldn't worry at all about adding a lip or some sort. the front wheels are very forward, so there is a low overhang. Makes it a lot easier to manage.

My splitter is ordered. Waiting on it.

I told you on CF you'd love that car before you even bought it.

No my car was over in Murrieta, CA. I did check out the one that was in ATL. It had silver stripes and 7k miles. There was a downpour literally 10 min before I showed up to test drive it. Im in ATL semi frequently and that one sold before I made it back.

How long ago was that? Wondering if it's mine.

I love it. Almost no chance I'd trade for the C8Z06. I'll probably buy that in addition now if I want it.

2 weeks ago ish on July 19th. The car was from the Houston area before the dealer bought it from Icon Exotics. The original owner got the car in Louisiana.
