    Anyone recognize this Vent

    Found this on the floor under my 01 GTS
    Anyone recognize it? Is it a vent? Cap?IMG_3486.jpg

    Yes its from the bottom of your starter motor

    Thank you Fatboy. Not sure how I got knocked off. What is it’s purpose?

    Moisture drain and pressure vent. From heat of expansion and condensate respectively.

    If the notch that holds it in the hole is not split, lube and gently work it back into its hole.

    I'd try a little ring of dish soap so it will dry and hold snug.

    Thanks everyone. I think the notches on the plastic clips broke off. I’m going to stop into local starter rebuilding shop. It’s a Denso starter so I’m hoping this is a common replacement item

    lube and gently work it back into its hole.
