    Gen 5 speaker setup

    Hi all!

Looking to install speakers in my acre.

Anyone know the general setup for speakers?
    Sizes and number of them.

    Thanks!

I had the 12 speaker stereo and upgraded to the 18 speaker with the kit. The "subs" which are 6x9s behind the seat are the most work, as you have to remove the seats to install them....

The amp is under the same cover as the battery, dead easy. Doors are not too bad, I assume the dash would be OK too?

Buy this kit 82213535AB, then piece together the rest:

There are plenty of better speakers out there, but I doubt the factory amp would like them......

Fyi….I went from 12 to 18. Current amp in 12 supports 18 after dealer reprograms it

If you go 3 to 18, then amp needs to be replaced with the one soec’d in 2doorrockets writeup. It was on backorder forever. Unsure if it still is

Wut? I did a complete install from 3 to 18 and added the subs behind the sets certainly didn't have to remove anything other than some carpet.

You're probably right. I did mine when I installed my harnesses, and my seat track is gone, with the lowering kit......

    OP, listen to him.

That’s to get to the fuel pumps.

    Hey all!

Got all the parts! I have the 3 speaker dilution of speakers...normal for DELETE ACR. with this upgrade...you actually UPGRADE/CHANGE out those?

I was reading that those are used in the full setup/that they are the same speaker...??...

    Thoughts please!
    Thanks!

    Leave them. They're the same.

Can anyone venture an estimated weight addition by going from the ACR-E speakers (Are there even speakers? maybe 2 tweeters in the dash) to this upgraded kit as discussed above?

    Darbgnik…exactly the same??

The kit comes with new ones. For the “upgrade”.

Seems weird that they could be exactly the same and in the upgrade…

The speaker upgrade is "added" speakers, not "improved" speakers.... I'm pretty sure anyways.

The upgrade kit comes with the speakers needed to upgrade from the 9 speaker stereo to the 18 speaker. My car came with the 12 speaker stereo, so the kit ended up with some leftovers for me, as I didn't need all of them.

    OK!

my ACR speaker delete has 3...center dash, dr side dash, pass side dash (very lame)

thus these are not changed at all?

just adding doors all way back...

I used the subwoofer outputs from the factory amp(wire colors below) to a high level input on the aftermarket sub amp:

    Subwoofer 1: gray/brown - green/brown
    Subwoofer 2: gray/white - green/white

Anyone put an aftermarket amp and speakers in. Rather than just buying the factory speakers and adding them?

In sure a guy could, and even mount the amplifier where the factory one is supposed to, commandeer the inputs and speaker wires at the factory amplifier plug.

But I assume most go the factory route, as it's all plug and play.

Darbgnik! good info! will look into...does it still allow you to use all 13 factory speakers? or do you lose some?

Cyabya= as for full upgrade...I did alot of researching on this, from what I read, it will cause issues with the 1500$ head unit...that only factory make all happy. bc I didnt care about factory/OEM, would rather aftermarket...but one thread even points out some speaker fitment issues.

ALL mine are in! Now to the dealer soon!
