New Viper owner here! Recently purchased my first viper. After years of convincing my wife while vipers were at the bottom of their market value, I was finally able to convince her and well of course the sudden rise and closed borders made it VERY tough to find a car in Canada. Most that were in my budget were either basket cases, or sold instantly. Gen1’s were in the budget but I was mostly set on a Gen2 since I wanted windows/locks. I was mainly sold on an RT10 to be more enjoyable for my wife and the price was a fair bit more affordable. Then I stumbled across my now 2000 GTS. The car was somewhat bought sight unseen 3500km away. I did have a friend that coincidentally was going to the exact same town this car was in the day after I called which made it feel like a meant to be!
I landed this car in my budget as it is a higher mile car 86,000 Miles but clean carfax. But after reading forums/facebook this honestly did not worry me. I also did not want a garage queen with 10k miles. I feel a car like that will be less reliable and I will likely not want to drive it. I plan on driving this car every nice day there is, so racking the mileage up does not bother me one bit!
It came with a few unknown mods which is nice!
Magnaflow cat back
ROE Rad
Smooth Tubes (known from pictures)
Complete stereo with 10” sub 5 channel amp
Short throw shifter
ATI balancer
Viper Alarm
The car is also setup for 5 point harnesses which is nice since I wouldn’t mind getting some track time in the future
Current plans as of now, potentially lowering Caps, hubcentric spacers until I get the OK to toss some BC Forged wheels on the car. The car will be going in for some paint work hopefully within the month as well. While it was sold as a very clean car, clean Carfax, after a nice wash and the bright sun, there is some spots under the paint that show through at a darker shade of red, which nobody but myself has noticed, but it bothers me so I will likely respray the entire hood.
