I'd totally trade in my 13 SRT for a 14 GTS if I wouldn't get raked over the coals for my '13.
Sigh

If they did a Viper Loyalty bonus I think it would go a long ways. Get the people who love these cars, in these cars!
SRT knows that there is a pent up demand for the Gen V from current previous Gen owners.
They all want them, but the price differential is too great to make the leap.
Believe that a price decrease would quickly clear the lots, but what after that.
How would it be received by those faithful that have made an earlier purchase, and now are faced with a huge depreciation?
Who would ever again buy a regular priced Viper?
What would happen to the current market value of all the other vipers?
Ralph specifically speaks about the Gen V with good info.

It says the video is currently unavailable, what did they say about the Hellcat? Any hp numbers on it?
EDIT: Seems to work now.

He said he legally cant use the Hellcat name, it was an internal name they used and it grew from there. So he calls it the kitty, or the kit cat etc.
It was a good discussion with him from about the 23 min mark on.
There were 20k rebates on Gen IV Vipers a few years ago. Sure it hurts right away for those looking to sell, but they have held pretty solid now.
I always thought that the dealers are independent business people and all dealers pay the same price from the factory, if the parent company wants to rebate money, it will definitely affect the secondary market...the 2009 and 2010 saw a small increase especially still new at dealers, if any rebate program, it also kills sales when the line starts up again....my $.02
hmmmm , i wonder how much of a discount? $$
Everybody knows that tomorrow is April Fools day...Hope that's not it.
I would be surprised at anything over $3,500.
Id say $5k to start and see where it goes from there. No need to fire sale if you don't have to.
$5K Is to much. I say crush the over flow. lol
There was nothing on chryslers web site today. My friend said it may come up tomorrow tough. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
Discounts may not come in the form of an official, published rebate, but quietly given to dealership owners in the form of trunk money that allows them to discount the cars more heavily. It may become a negotiated amount between every dealership and every buyer. The dealership can keep all the trunk money as additional profit, or use it to move extra inventory and increase volume.
Most will find out about any deals when people post about the deal they just got from their dealership. Then the rush will begin.
Is it possible this was just an April Fool's joke?
I know what you are saying and that does happen. However I think if the goal is to sell more vipers the public would get the money and be told about.
