While price was good, a couple of things made a difference

Those that know the history also know that the ‘solid edition’ is just something a dealer made up and does in fact not add any value unlike the real special edition cars

The 1 of 1’s can be a hit, miss or something in between. I think this falls in between as the color is one that doesn’t appeal to everyone.

I think these things may have prevented it from getting top dollar.

Yup and it wasn't an authentic special edition, had a so-so color combo as pointed out by others. Now that these machines are clearly over the 200k mark, it will be interesting to see when they will break 300k. If history is an indicator, it shouldn't be long at all.

Such beautiful cars and fantastic that you and your Wife enjoy them together. I love Cobras and have wanted one for quite some time. Happen to really like the color combination on yours.

I have spent some time on the track and off driving a Superformance Cobra with a 615 hp Roush engine in it. I was shocked at how well it put down power. Fun cars!!

Hope you both continue to enjoy those cars together for many years!

It just wasn't a "beautiful" red IMO....it was different certainly but not "beautiful". I think Dodge's Viper red is truly beautiful.

I agree. The burgundy red colors are not for everyone (I almost bought a Long Beach Red metallic Z06 years ago because I thought it looked great, but my wife couldn't stand it). At first, when I read that it was "Candy Apple Red", I thought that should be terrific. But the photos seemed to show a color that had a rust tone to it, as opposed to a very "clean" red base that you would find a true candy red. I believe it was OneViperBite that nailed the color properly -- a gorgeous 1-of-1 that looked as good as the Stryker colors. This BaT car was missing the "pop", or at least the photos did not seem to present the color as well as they could have.

So I'll also put it into the category of good 1-of-1's, but not terrific. The terrific ones are still the Stryker colors, and some other unusually beautiful combinations. But those cars never come up for sale.

This one could fetch a decent number, probably would be a good 10% higher if they took those ridiculous decals off!

Other than the cheesy decals and faux carbon fiber dash surrounds not getting the "custom" part.

I cringe at the word "custom" for just about every single consumer good, but especially cars. It usually means "trashy modifications." It never seems to mean "expensive coilovers, big brake kit and upgraded powertrain cooling systems."

I dont even understand why it's advertised as "custom." That means it was specifically made for a person that isn't you. My suit is custom made to my measurements with a quote I want monogramed on the inside (I always put famous people's last words). My next house will be custom made with a 2000sqft garage and a rooftop office (because I want a skyline view) and a small yard because I have no kids. While it's worth a lot more to me, it's probably worth a lot less to you. What the heck makes you think anyone else wants your "custom" mods.

I guess my car is "custom" since I added carbon bits, swapped out shifters, added high flow cats and sound damping. $150k. No low ballers. It's custom.

Deduct $20,000 because of those vomitous decals.

...what if they were painted on???? Deduct $100,000.
