Front Gen 5 ACR wheel needed ASAP

I am in Miami for NVE 4. Need to drive back to NY tomorrow.

One of my front rims developed a small crack (leaking air at around 0.5 PSI per hour). I may have gotten a little greedy with curbing at the track yesterday

Called one of the Dodge dealerships. They checked inventory using my VIN. Nobody in Miami area has the wheel in stock. Lead time is 2 weeks.

If anyone around Miami area has a front ACR rim in working condition (used is OK, as long as it's not damaged), please contact me.

Shipping the car back is problematic because I have to be back in NYC by Monday night and arranging for shipping without damage and problems takes time that I don't have.

If everything else fails, I'll drive back and will keep adding air as it escapes. The crack is on the inside lip of the rim, so it does not appear to be structural. I also have Hagerty roadside assistance if the crack gets worse, as well as fix-a-flat (it may slow the leak down).

I had the same, i took it to a wheel refurb specialist where they welded it up and refinished it
been perfect ever since

Man that sucks! Get some fix a flat and I bet you'll be fine. Put one of the big cans in or two regular cans. Go to walmart or autozone and get a cigarette light powered air compressor.

Dude, rent a truck and trailer or get it shipped up there by a reputable transport company.

If you're worried about cost, you'll save more money in depreciation by keeping the miles off than the cost of shipping (usually $1/mi), let alone wear and tear. Heck, gas alone will be $0.25/mi lol.

0.5 PSI isn't that bad though. Just put extra air in there and you will only lose 2 or 3 psi before you need gas anyway.

Instead of a new wheel, a runflat tire may be another option.

First of all I wanted to thank everyone who responded. Special thanks go to Ed Massena and Beth Sewell for sending out an email to all NVE4 attendees about my wheel. This type of support is one of the reasons I joined VOA and will continue to be a member for as long as I own my Viper.

I am happy to report that I made it back all the way to NYC on a cracked rim without any issues. I had to be back home by EOD Monday and since I was unable to source a replacement rim or an enclosed trailer transport, I decided to take a chance and see if I make it back home in one piece. The wheel was losing about 1 PSI every 3-4 hours while in Miami, but as I drove north and temps got lower, the leak accelerated to about 2 PSI per hour. I have spent like $30 on gas station compressors alone (I had a portable compressor with me for emergencies, but it was very slow), but at least I got to explore many different gas stations on I-95 and surrounding areas. With that being said, don't try this at home, folks. I usually don't have good luck, but I think the fact that the car made it home may have something to do with a handshake I got from Ralph Gilles himself while at NVE

The fact that the cracked rim made it 1,300+ miles without falling apart is another proof of how well made those rims are. Prior to the incident, this rim lived a long and very stressful life. It visited two countries (yes, Canada counts!), 22 US states, 7 racetracks (some of them many times over) and accrued over 15,000 miles along the way. That's over 12 MILLION revolutions. All things considered, I think I got my money's worth. Kudos to folks at Dodge for making a great product.

Now I am trying to find a good wheel repair place around NYC area. I will try to repair this rim and use it for road duty only, but I also need some TLC for my other rims - I have two sets of front rims and now one rim is cracked and two others are slightly bent (I think I need to stop being greedy with curbing at the track). If anyone knows a reputable company that handles rim repair for performance/high end cars, please PM me or post here. Obviously, there are plenty of rim repair places around NYC, but most of them have monkeys that have no clue about what they are doing. I don't trust them with my car or my life.
