Makes you wonder how many of these are out there? I do question why somebody did the frame recall on this car. If the goal was originality, that's no longer the case. Obviously, it's not a driver.
Built 5 days after mine, but has lower VIN. Interestingly, this car has both frame reinforcement recalls performed. Has a dent in the lower front frame rail on the drivers side. Needs new boots on the swaybar end links. Has period correct saggy headliner net pockets. Bad orange peel on the RH door stanchion. Dash is very, very good, but showing some outgassing near the dimmer thumb wheel and console top near shifter. PS floor carpet rolls down just like mine. Lumbar pump bulbs rotten too.
Recall plates for the steering rack are installed backwards
AZ, yeah nice Viper but what are you going to do with it. At the mileage and expected price, silly to drive it!!
With the big $$$'s on BAT recently, are all the G5 ACR-E guys going to park them in the hopes of seeing big $$$$'s????
A 25 year old garage queen that needs repairs because it sat for 25 years.
You just can't make stupidity like that up.
I'm VIN 33, 1 off from mine. Im 051708
It took five (5) days to create the 96 GTS; two (2) days in chassis and three (3) days in final assembly. The first production GTS rolled off the assembly line on May 6, 1996.
Because CAAP assigned VINs after a batch of cars are produced, the number a car gets can be several places off
Early cars also had the Oil fill cap on the drivers side Valve cover. They quickly went to the Passengers side after some were built.

I just double-checked and mine was built the same day as the one for sale and is 64 off the VIN sequence. I understand the process, but this hilights how flakey the VIN can be. And yes, mine has the oil filler cap conveniently located right below the brake booster vacuum line.

Good point. It does block the oil filter. Mine was installed backwards and I had them redo it after I asked them how I change my oil filter. So this car probably has not had the filter changed and wouldn't need it. Whomever buys this probably won't be driving it anyway.

Again........all talking down about the car. Only on this website are such haters present.
People talking about what other people should do with their money and possessions. "He should have invested the money....etc.....". Who knows.....maybe the guy had a stroke and could not drive it. I don't know what difference it makes anyway.
Oh well.......the car will bring good money anyway despite it. it is an aspirational car. People will buy it. This is a typical thread.

It is funny.....If you go on forums for cryptocurrency....people are rabid about the "value" of coins that someone created out of thin air. Many are essentially worthless. Despite this... Never a bad comment. Here...each of us own an American classic that people aspire to........and people constantly trash it.
I am "hodl"ing the Viper.....TO THE MOON......

All I see here are fellow owners pointing out obvious flaws that in some cases only am owner would see. How is that deflating to the brand as a whole. Sounds more like a polite service to any buyer that mite not be as well versed in Viper idiosyncrasies.
Not that it matters but I myself think more along the lines of Dave666. But I think of myself as a driver and not a collector.
If I had the funds to buy it it get it home and I'd change the fluids, ensure proper air pressure, and burn those tires off.![]()
Garage queens are stupid is the obvious point. You don't get to drive it and the money you make is trivial as compared to real investments. $66K - the 1996 MSRP - would be worth $554,000.00 today if it had been invested in equities. But instead it's considered forum smart to buy a car, never drive it, let it physically deteriorate, and then celebrate when you sell it for a mere fraction of what you could have made. More stupidity you just can't make up.
