Driver s side window will not go back up

    Quick details:
—window went fully down, will now not move back up
—motor is engaging when pushing the switch.
—motor actually sounds like it is moving the cable fully up and down, but nothing grabs the window when things move up and down the metal track

So, I think the switch is fine, the motor sounds fine, but the window does not move.

After reading numerous posts, I am interested in hearing the proper steps I should follow to debug this issue. I’m betting my driver’s side window has only been fully lowered less than 50 times, so having this happen is annoying.

You need the shuttle clip. Jon @ Parts Rack likely has them.

Also, plastics deteriorate by time not by miles. A garage queen has the same problems as a car that is actually driven. So your 25 year old car will have problems just like every 25 year old car does. Get used to it or sell it and buy something newer.

Look down into door along the glass to see if the plastic
"doo-hicky" that attaches to glass has broken and is jamming glass travel. On the driver's side this piece is black or dark gray as I recall. The same piece on passenger's side is white. These are getting hard to find...and, not easy to install. JonB at Viper Parts Rack MAY have them IF indeed that is the issue.

If you have been running the motor and the window is not moving it is likely you have twisted up the steel wires in the regulator itself. check out the How To guides,

My regulator also broke. I was not comfortable trying to fix it myself. i tried to buy a new one and it was $750. I found this place in Florida https://www.windowmotorworld.net $180 with a life time warranty. I am very pleased. Just an option. Thanks

Like I said above, it's called a shuttle clip.
