Damn, that's a beautiful bike. Now get rid of those chicken strips! (j/k)

I've only owned one Ducati (900CR back in the day), but have spent a lot of time on friend's bikes, including a 999R, which was sublime. A friend of mine owned one of the first 916s in the U.S....such a ground-breaking motorcycle.

The last bike I owned was an RC51, which I sold to a friend in Connecticut four years ago. I had too many close calls and wasn't having as much anymore on the "spirited" Texas hill country rides I was used to....the last close call being a texting punk kid who came over a hill head on in our lane. My buddy on his Buell in front of me crashed out avoiding him (and hurt) and I barely missed him.....that was my sign.

Like you I had been riding 30 years plus. Be careful out there.

I use to do Demo Rides for Ducati in the 90's and 2000's , and have had many Super Sport liter Bikes for over 30 years .....
You'll definitely enjoy the power to weight ratio and great Handling.
Be sure to get yourself down to the Dragon and hook up with some locals .
