    ZR1 to TA

Hey guys, glad to be here and hope to make some new friends.

True car enthusiast all my life and JUST came out of a 2011 ZR1 and into a TA. I've always been intrigued by the Viper but really became much more interested with the 08+ ACR models. Actually contemplated getting 1 before getting the ZR and getting rid of my 700rwhp Z06.

Anyhow, dont have much to report as I really have not had an opportunity to drive her yet. I took the Ms. out for dinner the day it arrived and only got to put about 25 miles on her. I will say the ZR has much more pull down low (power on tap) than the Viper. I actually did a (concerned) thread on another Viper forum being that my expection of the car was to be about equal all through the revs. The guys basically told me to get more seat time and that the Gen V series delivers up top.

Anyhow, my TA has replaced the ZR and sits along side of my 04 Mustang Cobra. Cant wait to get some miles on her.

Welcome...the newer generations lost some low end torque (may be subjective and also related to the e-gas) compared to earlier Vipers, but the Gen-4/5s wake up at +4k rpm...

The TA should be a beast!

    Congrats and welcome!
Be prepared for a whole new experience taking a Viper out. Pictures. Pointers. And a lot of conversation filling up at the gas station.

These motors really are a beast above 4k. I really think the torque down low is intentionally dialed back with the tune and variable cam. Dont worry though, you can only use what you have traction for!

Post up some pics when you get a chance! You made the right decision!

I spoke with a Tech (know as the Viper Wizard) here in NY and he said the same thing as far as the cam. I could give picture link of delivery day but that thread is on the corvette forum and Im not too sure how well that would go over LMAO. I will get some pics up and thank you for the welcome sir.

Congrats, and like everybody has said so far, when you get to about 4K, revs, hang on because the power really comes on hard, I'm new to the Viper world also, and I have had a few "donut" moments because I got on her too hard, and I wasn't pointed straight!

Awesome! Congrats on an incredible purchase! Two friends have orange TAs and love them...and both have had several other Vipers, and they say the TA is the best version yet.

Hey, what's with the white stuff covering the ground???

    Very Very nice !!

I have the luck in that a good friend and member a few minutes away from me bought one of the 4 orange TA's that came to Canada and get to admire it almost daily. Pictures do nothing for the Viper. It definitely is not photogenic. Well somewhat.

ZR1 wasn't half bad looking either. Definitely an upgrade though.
