Help Me Understand

Help me understand all the systems this Hellcat has AND still did this? My contention, safety technology (ABS, traction control, stability control) allows the unaware to have accidents at higher speeds with more severe consequences. I'll take the airbags.....

Working in the industry for many years, including the formative years where traction control was pretty rudimentary, I can't tell you the number of iterations that the R&D departments went through to come up with systems that were not too intrusive. In short, all of the systems are a compromise at some level. If you shorten a reaction time here....it affects something else. Drivers complain about not being able to put the power down when needed......and that is its own safety implication.

None of this is perfect. Physics is still physics. You can't get away from it. There is a perception that drivers aids were meant to eliminate accidents. Not entirely true. They could have been implemented lessen the severity of the accident......increase traction in a challenging situation.....or brake better than a person can normally do.
